Bought a $3.99 3ft. aluminum piece of gutter guard and this is what i came up with. No effect on engine temp but catches a lot of bugs. Looks pretty cool IMO. Thoughts?

I've seen people do this in both black and in silver. Looks good.

Yes, but now how do you get in there to clean out the bugs that do get in?
Pull the whole side panel. The 2 pop rivets up front & a half dozen bolts & that whole panel (both the painted & unpainted pieces) will come off, even with the AltRider crash bars installed. Actually, it's easier to get that off than it is to get the DZUs-attached panel on the right side off.

the larger lower radiator grill just pulls out, but like diehli said, the other two you have to take the side panels off. I just got back from a ride in Canada and i can tell you...the dragonflys were thick! but none got through the grill. It will stop small bugs as well, just as long as they don't fly squarely in the center of the holes..haha...but the bigger stuff it will stop for sure..including rocks etc. I got used to taking the side panels off with my happy trail crash bars on till I got the fit the way I wanted, so its not big deal to take them out for cleaning for me. Plus..i think it looks cool...ha
