I visited the Mitas tyre stand/booth at the UK bike show in Birmingham and was drawn to the row of tyres mounted on the wall of the booth. My only interest was the E07 and they have changed the pattern and removed the centre circumference solid band!
I spoke to the representative and he said the new design has only been out for a few weeks so probably not in the shops yet? He wasn’t able to comment much more on how they perform though.
Sorry went to add images but not on my mobile camera!!!
Hopefully someone can get some images?

I'm going up on Saturday, if no one posts before then I'll grab some pics. Any mention of price? The EO7's are getting a great following so a price hike is bound to be due.

In the last week I found an article about the Mitas e-07 and how the tread pattern has been changed for better off road riding while still maintaining good road handling. Thought I had saved the link but can't find it. The tread was wider and had more space between the treads so the soil could clear itself easier.

I am hoping they don't change the current Mitas e-07 Dakar. I call it the best street tire I have had on the Super Tenere. Recently had a new set installed and I rode to the fast twisty Lake Berryessa asphalt roads. And the Mitas e-07's Dakar's were like being on rails. Better than usual. The next morning I checked the tire pressures and found them to be 28F 32R which is lower than I usually, 36F 41R, ride.

If I am feeling better tomorrow I plan to return to the same area and might play with the tire pressures.

According to the Mitas rep on the booth he said that the Dakar version has the same tread pattern as the one I viewed which was the standard version.

Yes that will be good if you could. No mention of prices. I even took a picture of the spec sheet with all the sizes etc! Meanwhile I’ll check my phone again!
Whilst there when you visit the Yamaha stand see if you can ask Geraint Jones if he is there about what his plans are to get restocked with S10’s and the new T700 as he was busy when I was there and I didn’t have time to get back.

I’ve done some research and Mitas Uk on there site are calling them E07 Adventure.
See link here
http://www.mitas.co.uk/Adventure-/Safari-Tyres/E07-Adventure.Html?cPath=10

On this site it doesn’t mention S10 sizes! Is the size listed for the current watercooled GS?
The rep didn’t say they were only for the GS?

Your link also states that the modified tread pattern is only for the new sizes.

The E07 Adventure is the new tread pattern. Tellesport shows the current tread pattern under E07 and you can select the Dakars form the drop down menu. The S10 sizes are shown there. The E07 Adventure, oddly only shows the new GS WC sizes. I seem to recall Ducati and some others use that as well. 1290SA? It's a common sport bike size. Might make for good fun for some of the sport bike riders to up-tyre and show up at their favorite coffes bars. :D

Thanks for clearing that up Eric!
Seems like the rep didn’t have a clue on his products on display!
Perhaps the new pattern will be available in the future in sizes to suit the S10. If I had the images that I took all would have been apparent. I didn’t look at the spec sheet in any real detail above the tyre because I had taken the image for viewing later so was reporting on what was relayed to me from the booth.

Stridey,

My question is...the pic you show of E07 tyre sizes, does this include the e07 Adventure?
I do like the tread and this will be my next set of tires. I do have the E07 dakars now, very happy with them.

they don't look like they will get 10,000 plus km out of them :( they might have made a mistake because the old tread pattern was a great all rounder

??

They simply removed the center rib, which is a step back to how the tread on these first came out. I'm curious to see if they get the lug tearing problems with the higher hp bikes.

10k km? on a good day for me. I've averaged 8-9k at best. 11k when I grooved the tires with a hot knife. This is over 5 or 6 sets of E-07.

I should get better mileage out of them on my AT. The extra weight and powerrrr of the ST contributes to short life, that and a right wrist. Also, more gravel, less tire life.

I would like to see a photo of a tire when you remove it. Mileage is subjective to how long you leave the tire on. My last 3-4k kms is typically pavement or gravel use only and the last 2k kms no riding in the rain. I typically get 16k to 19k kms on a rear before changing it. They get pretty squared off at end of life also and changes handling. New tire goes on and it feels like a sportbike again for spirited cornering.

My current E-07 Dakar front tire has 30k kms on it. Trying a E-10 Dakar in the front next, if mileage on it can match an E-07 rear and significant dirt improvement I'll be changing for good.

well, if the center has no grip, it's gone. It's useless to me in gravel. Unless I grove it.

It all varies how and where you ride.

Bummer that I have a new ribbed (old style) tire sitting in the garage to go on next.

It looks like a lot of experience with the Mitas E07 Dakar tires here. Could any one please help explain the tire markings. I think I will try these tires but I see two tires with the same size that will fit my bike. One is the 150/70-17 69T the other is 150/70-17 70T. What does the 69T and 70T mean on this tire?

69 and 70 are the load ratings. All the 150/70-17 are 69 load rating, the 150/70-18 is the 70 rating. The 18" tire has a higher load rating than the 17". You can search for the ratings and what pounds they actually are rated for.
