I added the winglets to my Tenere to get rid of the buffeting. Works great for me but around noon time I was getting glare off the winglets right in my face. I took care of the problem with some back Plasti Dip. It is the first time I have used this stuff. It looks awesome, would never know it was not factory black. You can order some from Amazon or pick up at the local parts store, lots of other colors and uses for this stuff too if you want to make a non permanent color change to parts of the Tenere. I had a bit of Winglet Glare on my last trip. Think I will paint the Winglets. Can you paint the Winglets without sanding/scuffing them?

Also had glare from the gauges and I will not paint them.

I think any kind of surface prep is always good for adhesion.

I scuffed mine up with some 220 grit sand paper before spraying them flat black. Just used a spray can paint that was rated for plastic. It has held up well over 50k plus miles. BIG help with the glare.

The glare is totally dependent on angle of the sun and your direction. Much of the time it's no issue, but when it is, it's hard to avoid. You can move your head when you're getting glare off the gauges, but not with the wings, too much surface area.

The glare off the gauges could have been minimized if they had made them concave/convex, but I suppose nobody does that though.
Small points of reflection are an annoyance, but that large spot of reflection can be hazardous! ::007::

My old Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe (say that 3 times fast) had so much reflecting chrome up front, by the time I sold it, it had a lot of black Plasti-Dip on it!
It looked OK cause it was the 'Midnight' model. ::008::

To me now, chrome just so.............................................................Harlyesk!

::012:: The glare from the gauges really bugs me and I was wondering what the military does for laptops and such, so I looked around or the net. It turns out NuSheild make the material they use. They were very quick to take the measurements and list it on their site. I ordered one, so I'll let you know how it works out. Here is the link.

I don't have any affiliation with them.
