You can hear your chestnuts sizzle when you sit on the seat though. I am worried that my tires will be hard when the weather cools. I can't remember when the 100° temps started, but we've been in the 90°s since about April. Heat cooks the oils out of the rubber and makes them hard. Add to that there hasn't been any rain in well over a month, and the roads are getting slick with all of the oils on the surface.
Didn’t go with powder coat in the end. Lack of time to find someone and silly prices from the few I did talk to meant I ended up just giving it a good rub down, treated with Kuresrust and 3 good coats of spraycan smoothright Hammerite. Should be ok for a good few years.
Thanks StRob and apologies for foisting my mate Jeff on you
