Hello guys! thanks for your time.

I recently bought the bike of my dreams, obviously the Yamaha Supertenere. Believe it or not, back in argentina I had a lot of option of cases for motorcycle. But here in the USA, at this point I just saw 3 options. (On rigid cases):

1- Originals: The laterals seems to be good, specially the one for the left that cover best space for the exhaust. But the top case is super small. I ride most of the time with my wife, and all my past top cases holds 2 helmets. The yamaha original top cases not.

2- Givi/Kapa: The aluminium line of givi seems to be pretty good. The top case wont need much modification for the connecting base (and have 2 options and I don't know why, the aluminium plate that use part of the original base from the bike and other hald metal half plastic that need to take out all the original base). The plastic line (trekker) seems to be good too but not much sellers on ebay and no physical place where I can go to see it in person.

3- Touratech: Pretty expensive, but not too far from Givi. Best quality so far. One aluminium peace, with plastic protections that you can change (the givi outside looks similar, but they are aliminium plates hold by plastic on corners...)

So, any thoughts about cases? any other brand that I'm missing? May be some place where I can go in person to see it? (I'm on south florida).

Again thanks guys! Have a great day with tail-wind and full of landscapes :D

I have the OEM side cases which are pretty neat and leave little metal support showing when the cases are off. As for the top case, I opted for the GIVI Monokey V46 which is much larger than the OEM top case (GIVI produce a mounting plate for the top case which is specific for the S10).

Hye Juan, thanks for the reply. That is what I was thinking. The support for the side cases are super small. Givi have too much pipes and metal making bike horrible when the cases are not on.

Thanks for the advice.

I think the Holan and Bumot cases offer the neatest solution. I dont like the lop sided look some of the others leave you with. Also minimizing overall width is always a good thing.

I'm with stutrump.

The Givi set-up offers many options. Just order the PLR2119 mounts along with whatever cases you prefer - the framework for these racks can be de-mounted when not reqired. Personally, I find the small boxes sufficient, unless you need to accommodate camping gear, & they allow easy filtering/splitting where permitted.

I got a good deal from these guys in Italy < http://www.accessorimotostore.com/ > & they ship promptly too.

If you use the Givi side racks (like mine) the Kappa K22 are pretty good in my opinion. Reasonable price and not too wide so filtering is still possible.
thanks for the reply and the pictures. I read a post about it on this forum. I will think about it as an option. Will check the price too.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the advice, I'll think about this after I resolve the top case first. I saw that supertenere have the tope case complete separate from the sides. Others bikes need to buy one mount for the 3 cases. I love givi, but buying it from europe will cost a lot of money in shipping (at least 80e)

This mounts is for monokey right? no the outback I guess.

thanks for your time and reply!

I did a lot of research on bags when looking for my bike. My decision came to Bumot. They look great and get awesome ratings and reviews. My Tenere came with bags so I'm going to roll with those for now and spend my money on other things. I would really like more room than the stock bags provide however.

BTW, a friend of mine has an 1190 with the Touratech Zega pros and the things leak. Just a word of caution. I don't know how bad they leak but its irritating to pay for a 'premium' product and not be completely satisfied.

I used to work at the Univ. of Alaska Fairbanks; one of the areas I oversaw was campus housing. In the summer we would have 3-400 riders stay in the dorms. There were bikes of many makes sporting cases of many brands. There were often riders returning from riding the haul road who had been in an accident. I noticed that the cases that were rectangular in shape were often tweaked so that the top no longer sealed. The cases that seemed to survive a spill the best were Jesse Bags. I saw one Jesse case that was torn off the bike yet remained essentially undamaged other than road rash. I've owned five sets of Jesses and still have four sets. I think they stand-up to abuse well because of the immutable triangles used in their design and the heavy gage aluminum used in their construction. They are expensive.

I've also had Happy Trails on a bike. They provide good bang for the buck.

Thanks. I will look into that brand. Touratech is definitely out of the list. Thanks for the reply

Never heard the brand. I will check it. The funny thing is that the brother of my grandfather is bernd tesch. He is like an icon of riding motorcycle in Germany and he made cases....

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely check that brand
