I recently went off road and cycled the shit out of it. Playing hide and seek with the rear reservoir, and having to remove my luggage rack, Air in the system, and spills wore me out.

Next time now that the path has been charted. Still have the radiator to flush. With all that said this job certainly not worth $400 and I am very happy that I had a contenting afternoon. Trying something new. It feels good to rise to a challenge, keep my hard earned money .

Rob, I forgot something very important and obvious………….there should be no air bubbles in the fluid that exits through the clear tube. You may get some early in the process, but there can’t be any when you finish the process.
This is the bit where using a vacuum can be misleading. If air is drawn in around the threads of the nipple it can make you think there is air in the system when there isn’t. Putting 5 turns of Teflon tape can stop the air being drawn in. One more tip: when you pump the brake lever is often causes a small jet of brake fluid to squirt out and over your tank if you aren’t careful. Either cover it with something or pull the lever very slowly to start with

Don’t get me wrong, vacuum pumps are useful for emptying the reservoir and pulling the old fluid out of the system. It’s just that the final bleeding is better done using the traditional pump and nipple method
