Not sure if I have told you befre, but this rig is AWESOME. Just back from a much shortened ride due to weather, a stranded rider and a ferry schedule. Ended up doing a Whitehorse, TOk, chicken, Tok, Valdez, Whitehorse run. It was brutal wet/rainy, but the S10 performed. Need to deal with the wind- either larger shield or ???

Glad you made it back okay, 'Dood. Yeah, it's been wet here, too. Rained for 36 straight hours.

That pic looks like the Richardson Highway. I was there in June.

Nice looking panniers. R

Sorry guys, better at riding, than posting. Had to stop this morning in Tok for some breaky, sat beside 2 older ladies and a fella. I am soaking wet, pulling out the ear buds, yard off my dripping jacket and these 3 start peppering me with all kinds of questions. Didn't hear most of them as my brain was humming from the music and wind buffeting. I nodded my head politely a few times, then the older fella says " you're from Texas are ya, what ya'all doing way up here". To which I stop, rub my ear (btw, I have yet to open my mouth to say a word-how the hell does he suppose I am from Texas). I said pardon, not sure I heard you correctly, to which "he says you must be from Texas, not sure where GorTexas is but is says your from Gortex right there on your coat". This couple at another table hears this, the fella giggles his women spits her coffee across the table and lands in a fit of laughter. I too found it pretty funny so thought I would share.
Apparently if you wear Gortex, you are from GorTexas-never knew that till now
True story

GorTexas? Well, that's not a knee slapper, but kinda cute I guess.

Rem- sad part about the knee or not slapper, is its true

That fall in bridal viel fall about 1/2 round the corner from horse bridal. Valdez suprisingly was a rare spot of no rain. Let Whitehorse in rain, it stopped at Glennallen, nice to Valdez and then about 60 miles out started pouring again. My Top of the world was stopped passed Chicken due to rain, my tent and sleeping bag was soaked form night before and figured Discovery days in Dawson- fastball, gold show, mud bog and general tourist there would be slim chance of a room at the inn, so back to the horse.

Great trip, beats work. Wife and kids are still on Van Isl so making miles while I can!!!!

Got a few things on the go tomorrow, keep me posted on your trip and time if you are up for another rider and I get my chores done...
