If I'm not going to use the tire again, (I always use a new tube), I just let all the air out and ride the flat tire across the lawn. The bead usually lets go without much trouble.

I never considered that there were differences in the rim. I stand corrected. The ST is my first tubeless tire bike in many years.

That may work for tube type tires on tube type wheels, but not on a tubeless wheel/tire. You can ride as far as you dare with a flat on a tubeless tire on a tubeless wheel, it won't ever break the bead on it's own til it blows from heat, and even then, the part that blows will be the tread, the bead will still be seated.
I gave up on bead breakers, all Chinese junk. The C clamp works mostly, but I finally made my own bead breaker out of steel. Not going to do me any good on the road, but in the garage I got it now and forever.
