This is how it has always been recommended by users….bleed, cycle…and bleed again….and if you repeat it again, better….(this in a circuit without disarming or air intake), only in a change of liquid…….
and if it is only a change of pads, push the pads opening the bleeders and refill the missing fluid, without the need to bleed and cycle

you're all way ahead of me, nice discussion.
So, has no one yet cracked a bleeder with the pump running?
I wonder if that will work? You have to apply both brakes to do the cycling. I don’t know if the system has to see the pressure in the lines or just activation of the brake light switches? If it’s the former you would have no line pressure with the bleeder open and the cycle might not run. Also mightn’t the cycling draw air back through an open bleeder if it did run?
