Did some searching on this topic, and finally found this thread from last year. My 2012 just started doing this a few weeks ago. Usually early in a ride, I'll get a brief pulse in the front brake lever during light braking. The lever briefly kicks back, as if the ABS is activating, but I'm braking lightly, not nearly hard enough to be activating the ABS. I can also feel a "thump" in the bars when this happens. It usually stops doing it after a half hour or so into the ride. I've checked everything I can think of, and can find nothing wrong. (Steering head, caliper bolts, front and rear wheel mounting hardware, and even bled the brakes.) Braking is otherwise excellent. I just wonder if anyone ever pinpointed a cause. I was happy to see a few others have noticed this, now I know I'm not losing my mind... Maybe just the nature of the beast, and what comes along with linked brakes and ABS?
Edit: Went back and reviewed the manual, and it says this can be felt in the front lever during the ABS self check. But it also says that occurs just once, after the bike is first started. So even though it seems like I'm feeling the ABS check, it doesn't make sense that I'm noticing it several times in the first half hour or so of riding.
