bluetooth headphone

Hello,

I am looking for a bluetooth headphone for my samsung note 3. When I put my earbuds, they become loose as soon as I put my helmet on. I am using it for navigation. So, it will be nice to have something that goes inside my helmet. I don't need a microphone.

Are there any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I use the Tork X-Pro Helmet speakers. I bought the Tork amplifier for use with my I-Pod. The speakers are thin enough to install in your helmet without affecting the fit. You will need a small bluetooth receiver to pair with your phone. Many available on Amazon for about $35.

Most here go with a helmet communicator; I personally use a Sena SMH10 with the earbud mount and custom molded earbuds. Most of the time, I ride solo, and use it primarily for streaming music and occasional directions from my iPhone; I know a communicator may seem to be overkill, but it allows for future expansion.

Scala rider now makes one for only phone/music/nav sync. There is no intercom capability if that is what you are looking for? I believe it is the Qz, goes for about $130 if I remember.

I have the Scala rider G9 and love it.

::008:: on the last two posts!!

Get a pair of the Senas or Scalas. It may be pricier but they are both very nice and you do not have to use the microphone and it may even come off. But as AVGeek said--- it provides for future expansion. I have the Scala G9 set and have put my other com onto scores of other riders helmets so that we could talk as we ride. I don't use navigation with verbal commands but it is nice to stream music on some rides. And the ability to talk to you riding partner has proven over and over to make the ride more enjoyable and safer. My $0.02... likely worth less!

Microphone is a plug and play. You are correct, it just unplugs to come off. I use it without all the time and just tuck the plug into the helmet liner like the rest of the speaker wires.

+1 on the Sena SMH10. I have thousands of miles of use on mine for streaming music from Pandora or my iPhone. Range is good (about a mile) for talking to my wife on her bike. Battery life is superb; have never managed to run out of battery, even on a 10 hour ride.

I have a Scala Q3 and it works exactly as I would hope. Only problem is that I only bought one and not two. Battery lasts almost exactly 8 hours which is not long enough for a normal riding day, for me. Was waiting to see what the Sena 20 reports were like before I bought a second Q3.

Timely thread

Just got back from a few days on the road and was thinking of going to a bluetooth setup too, I'm tired of the earbuds slipping out, or accidentally yanking them out...

For the suggested units, how are they with wind noise etc?

The noise cancellation on the Sena SMH10 is great. I frequently commute to work on the bike and (don't tell my company's lawyers) I have enjoyed countless work calls from the saddle on the way to and from work. I have a motorcycle buddy back in the DC area who can only tell when I am on the bike if a noisy Harley or car drives past while we are talking. I had a 20 minute conversation from I-25 at 75 mph and the person on the other end only realized I wasn't in my office when I told her I had to wait until I got to the office to send her the file she needed. :)

How does it do in the rain?

Didn't see anything on the website or the users manual about rain....I don't usually stop for rain.

Don't know about the Senas, but I've been in some very heavy rain with my Scala G9 with no problems. The Senas are probably fine also. Both are quality units.

::026:: on Cardo. My Q3 has performed just fine in the rain. No issues.

No problem with the Sena headset in the rain, snow or hail either. Ask me how I know. :))
I can second on rain and hail....thankfully, I haven't tested it in snow!

On that particular ride, the temperatures ranged from about 86 to 34 degrees with rain, then hail and snow. As you can imagine, based on the weather report, I was dressed for the warmer temps. My hands were the worst during the last 10-15 miles with the temps in the mid-30s and being soaked.

One benefit of the day is that I learned the Michelin PR3s are pretty good "snow tires." LOL Some knucklehead made a panic stop in the middle of the road in front of me on a hill. I thought, "I'll never get this girl rolling again" after the stop. I was happily proved wrong when I had an opening to go around the driver in front of me and the tires stayed connected to the blacktop. They did not do nearly as well in my muddy driveway, though.
