Blue ridge parkway 2019 ride

Hey super tenere friends I just bought my white 2013 super T and I cannot wait to go ride the BRP. I want to ride it from Cherokee all the way to the end Afton VA. I think my question to you all is where to stay where to put gas I would like to hear your experiences.

Gas is readily available. The north end is closed with trees everywhere from ice storm. I live about 5 miles from milepost zero of BRP.

There are 2 motorcycle campgrounds I like to stay at when I ride the BRP.
Blue Ridge MC campground off of hwy 276 near Cruso NC and Willville MC campground in Meadows of Dan VA.
There are a number of BRP campgrounds. They are all nice however most of them do not have showers.
Enjoy the ride.

Congrats on the bike but why stop in Afton? The BRP is 469 miles and Skyline Drive keeps it going for another 105.

Peaks of Otter Lodge , right on the parkway. Very nice place !
Also some nice motels in Floyd Va. Right off the parkway. Fun little town on a Friday night.

If you bought the 2013 my friend was looking at you got a deal. He would have bought it but he needed to sell his FJR first.

I guess I did. It was a really good deal, although the bike needed alot of tlc,but now she’s sparkling. I already added crash bars, skid plate, touratech windshield bracket, new windshield,and a few other things. She’s ready for the blue ridge mountain trip I’m going on soon! Cheers from Evansville

I am in the planning of my moto-cation in april there!
My plan is to ride from east of Quebec city to the BRP and going south to North Carolina to visit my sister.
Main concern is the weather . Don’t know what to expect on my way ...

Be ready for anything in the way of weather in April. I live a few miles from the junction of BRP & Skyline Drive which are both currently closed from winter storm damage to trees. Probably open soon- I have not heard.

Probably won’t be cold enough to snow in April but that is about all I would rule out .

Be ready for thick fog some days. Sometimes it will last all day.
