As the little lady at the rent a Mule stand at the south lodge in Grand Canyon stated " Sir I am not calling you fat I'm just saying you are an extremely large man" and our mules can not carry you to the bottom of the canyon. I told her that I would carry the damn thing to the bottom if it would carry back to the top. Needless to say I had to walk down and walk back up...
I have been surfing this forum and others looking for gear that would fit a large man or as some unkind but truthful person would say "Fat" .. I can hear the replays now " Lose weight "and they would be correct.. However until then lets focus the Subject matter of large gear. We grow'em big in the States. 6'01" 330 pounds pure romp'in stump'um romance . Well at least that is how I see myself...
1) Boots --- 12 4E -- Dose anyone know of a supplier that may carry Adventure riding boots.
2) Jacket : I have tried 4x Olympia with no luck , Shoulders to tight
3) Pants: Anything out there waist 48?

Looking for the wisdom of other large riders ,

Gear for big guys is in short supply and very few brands make anything beyond 2X, if at all. Given the growing waistlines of Americans, you'd think this would change. Even those with 3X and 4X available tend to run small. TourMaster, Olympic and FirstGear tend to make larger sizes...forget Euro brands, their XL is a US medium at best. I often think that's why Harley riders, many of which are on the portly side, don't wear gear because they can't find any to fit.

I have issues with jackets since I am long waisted - 6'2" with 30" inseam so most jackets are too short for me. Also, for the life of me I can't figure out why many mc pants get longer inseams as the waist size gets larger. You get into 3x & 4x and the inseams are 34-35" ::010::

I'm of similar dimensions and here's what I found. Joe Rocket jacket and pants. My jacket is 3x and my pants are 5x. I have an extra pair of 5x pants that I would part with. My feet are a 13 usually. These are the boots I have. http://www.revzilla.com/product/tcx-infinity-gtx-boots . Mine are a 48 and fit a bit spaciously. Nice and wide, goretex, good protection and a really good deal right now. Good luck chubby.

Motoport will also make you super high quality custom gear based on a pair of your jeans that fit you well, marked up, the process is on their site. I bought motoport stuff in normal sizes for my wife, great stuff.

Not sure about 4E, but I'm wearing a 47 Gaerne G-Midland and I normally wear a 13E. They run a half size larger than listed, so possibly a 48 for you. TCX also worth checking out. X-Five fit well, after some break in. That's not an ADV boot though. They do offer ADV style boots.

Olympia Pants, but yes, I had to have the legs shortened and kneee armor pockets moved up to be correct and provide protection where needed. (found a good seamstress that works on leather and textile gear in my area) Joe Rocket also fit well, better than Olympia, but I found it to be somewhat lighter gear.

FWIW, I crashed in a Aerostich Darien Jacket and Joe Rocket Alter Ego pants and both did well to protect me. I rode another 800 miles home that same day, no mirrors, no wind screen, one pant leg taped closed, (zipper blew out), but only some bruises and torn up gear.

Aerostich Darien jacket is very good quality product and they make larger sizes and do alterations. Order what you think will fit, based upon their sizing charts. Then when you get it, figure out if any changes need to be made and call them, they will make changes to another jacket and you ship the first one back, (un-used, just test fit, or it's yours if it comes back with bugs on it). That does speed things up since they don't wait to modify the first jacket you bought. Most companies won't do that, or even alter gear.

On the Joe Rocket gear - they don't do repairs, but when I contacted them to ask, they offered to sell me a replacement pair of pants at a discounted price, which I accepted. Saved me a few bucks. Their stuff doesn't seem to get longer inseam with larger waist like the Oly stuff does.

Klim might be worth checking out if you can stomach the prices and find a dealer to try them on. I only use their jacket, as they haven't figured out how to do long zippers on the pants legs yet. I prefer the Aerostich Darien jacket over the Klim Lattitude Misano I currently wear. I'll go back to the Darien when I wear the Klim out. Probably take a while though, I have ~70k on the Klim and other than the outside patch pockets not being waterproof, it's done ok to keep me dry in the wet and comfortable in the heat.

I'm in a similar pickle myself. I'm 320lbs, 5'11". My weight is so evenly distributed that I have a barrel chest. My 'gut line' and my 'nipple line' are roughly the same around. I don't have that V-torso that, it seems, every company assumes people fit into. I can order a jacket that is perfect chest size and sleeve length and have 4-6 inches between the zipper at the bottom. It's ridiculous!

Any good recommendations for 'barrel chested' guys like me? Hopefully options that won't make me look like the Michelin man? :'(

Since late 2014 I've lost almost two stones in weight, and no, I'm not bragging but just sayin that I now have a similar problem in that so much of my clothes are now too big, so new smaller clothes are being bought. (I'm nowl just below 16 stone and still 6' 2" )

Question is should I keep the stuff that's now too big just in case I grow back into them :D

Think big cities. Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver.

Honestly, forget about shopping in a store. Not going to happen very often. Pay attention to the return policy of online vendors and order up what appears to be your size based upon their sizing charts. Or simply be prepared to have things tailored to your needs by a local to you seamstress that works on heavy textiles and leather. They do exist. Local riding forums/lists are a good resource to find a good one.
