Having checked Givi.co.uk for available Monokey racks and mounts I ordered both the SRA2101 rack and the PLR2119 pannier mounts. Neither will fit straight out of the box. Givi do not seem to realise that the 2014 standard XT1200Z does not come from Yamaha with the factory rack or passenger handles. (If you want them you must buy/fit them after-market). This means that you will not have the standard fitting bolts and spacers for these items either and Givi have not thought to include them in their kit. Worse still, they do not tell us this on their website either. Even worse than that again, the PLR2119 frames that I received were badly manufactured with the top front fixing lugs/plates having been welded at the wrong angle to align properly with the fixing bolt on the motorcycle.
These elementary omissions have caused me much wasted time and Givi have not been at all sympathetic/apologetic, frankly, either. Anyway, this post is aimed at saving others from a similar nuisance. Good luck! Has anyone else experienced anything like this with Givi?
BTW, this is my second Super Ten - I have found it to be a brilliant bike all things considered. I bought a new 2013 KTM 1190 Adv but it proved hideously unreliable from the off. I was glad that I had hung on to my Super Ten just in case! I've had 3x GSs too but they are now far too complicated and not particularly reliable either.
Have fun, Comrades!
