Hello all,
I was wondering, where is the best place to find crash side bars and skid plate to protect my sump and filter? Do they sell them at bike shops, something you have to order, or what?
Thx

A little on line research will reveal what you seek. As for me, I just went to Ebay. While I would like the big name brands that cost a lot of money, I can't afford them. I got the sump protector off eBay from Israel and Givi crash bars. Around $360 total.

Ride on Adventure for AltRider crash bars and RideOnAdv skid plate.
::026:: you can order/ buy AltRider from several vendors, but Jaxon at Ride On ADV is a rider, Super Tenere owner and a good person as well as a good vendor. If AltRider is your choice, support one of our own. ::008::

Twisted throttle, Revzilla or RideON ADV will take good care of you.

Twisted throttle is only about 30 minutes from me so I used them for most of my stuff but I have used the other vendors and they are great also.

Ive never bought anything from revzilla, because I have always found things cheaper elsewhere.

Shop around.

I have used Happy-Trail products on several bikes to good effect. They are massively overbuilt and much better priced than most. These folks are serious off-road enthusiasts who build their own stuff in Idaho. They also happen to provide very good instructions, you can look at them in advance on the website:

I also happen to like that the lower edge of the crash bars provide a perfect spot for highway pegs:

'highly recommended.
