"The hoop" you are refferring to is the OEM frame guard? I have the OEM frame guard and am wondering how to get the 10 LED light bar to fit on this thing. I might have to go with two seperate spots, one on each side.
Question, What are the best LED lights FOR the OEM frame guard?
This is turning into a project and my local Yamaha dealer obviously hasnt had one in there to work on either.
Any advice would be nice. I like the 10 LED bar, Id like to get it to fit on there somehow.

From the description on the sales page of seome of these rigid vendors I can't tell if all models come with rings for direct battery hook up (to be cut off and added to fuze box) and the handelbar mounted switch?

I don't want mine on as part of the highbeam curcuit I want it on when I choose.

Anyone who ordered and received can you confirm what "came in the box"?

Mine came with a lighted switch (panel mount), a pile of wire, a fuse holder (ATO with a 20 amp fuse in it!!!) and big ass ring terminals meant for 3/8" battery posts. The whole assembly was crimped and ready.

I used some of the wire and saved the rest for another project one day. The wire is tinned and has a decent amount of insulation on it.

It also comes with long and short mounting brackets which are painted steel. I used the long.

The light is so bright, I may change the way I have it wired. I used a relay triggered by the high beams. I may add a switch to the bars for the LED. Maybe not.

Mounted mine today. Used the long brackets, but different holes on bike. Had to grind a notch, but no bending. Holes at proper width for light.
Very nice mounting points and brackets. I measured the mounting points at 6 5/8" (168 mm). Measured the long brackets and they have a 1/2" offset. Measured the lights and they have a 7 5/8" (194 mm) spread for their mounting points. Perfect match.

Now to grind the brackets and mount the light.

Does anyone have a schematic or pictures of how to wire the light?

Tim,

Which light setup did you go for?
90661, Specter, 6" - the same as most of the other did. Tonight I showed them to a friend with a new RT1200 and he will be ordering later tonight.

The eBay light you have listed is a different light. It's the hybrid with 6 LEDs instead of 9. Not nearly as bright. 90661 is the part # for the better one.

Thanks for the correction. So is the Stage 3 Motorsports is the less expensive or is there another Specter 90661 for less money?

Would anyone who has installed the 90661 care to comment on its suitability as a daytime running light? I don't ride at night. The night belongs to Bambi where I live. Also, I enjoy watching the sun go down with an adult beverage in hand. I would like to be more conspicuous in the daytime and I think the Rigid light bar nicely fills the void below the Tenere headlight but I don't want a light that annoys oncoming drivers. TIA.
