Time to take leave of the forum, it's been great. Ive enjoyed meeting, and riding with a bunch of y'all. Perhaps our paths will cross again.
I still have the Tenere, but apparently I've offended a few with my joking, sorry about that.
Funny thing, my R1200RS that sits next to my Tenere in the garage doesn't seem to mind my jokes...
Ride hard, ride free, and above all, enjoy the ride!!!

A friend I met online said people on the Internet were just blips on the screen, I always remember that and in honesty, could care less who I offend in person. Be yourself.

I have no idea what you said or who you offended but I too have a Super Tenere and a R1200RS in the garage so you're talking of leaving is making me nervous. I can't imagine you said anything that bad if the moderators didn't say anything.

Just the opposite, Donk, I'm surprised too. Buelligan I just sent you a pm and hope you reconsider.

Please, ignore Big Blu, and stay. If what you have to say is not explicitly pro-BMW, he is a bully. It's really that simple.
You actually own a Super Tenere, and add something to this forum, and it would be a loss to see you go.

On an aside; Interesting thing happened when I brought the RS home. I am truly enamored with the RS but I still love my S10. Normally when a new bike comes home the old one gets ignored or sold. S10 must be a damn good bike because I still like it as much as ever. Same for you Buelligan?

Dude!!
Don't do this!!
I have made it known I am sick of self appointed bike bashing mediators when one of us poke and joke about another brand bike!
I have had many brands and models and I have made fun of every one of them at one time or another.

He can't take it and so he has to make everyone feel some sort of guilt, BS!!
You will have to kick me off this forum before I resign from it over childish Dung like this..
I have fun on this forum and hate to see this stuff get blown outta proportion to the point someone want's to fold up the picnic and leave.
IT'S A YAMAHA SUPER TENERE FORUM!! We do talk about other bikes as well and we make fun of them at times get over it!!

I am out of work still so I am a little aggravated on top of this so I may sound off a bit harsh, sorry guys.
Don't fold Buelligan, I will come down to Albuquerque and find you!! :)) Winter will pass and spring will come and the world is a new adventure trail again.

Planning on a Great Basin trip next year if things work out.

As just posted on the CO UT BDR thread, pm's have been sent and yes, it's normal in the forum for ANY brand to have some bashing of others. Letting posts escalate is something we all need to watch ourselves for. As opposed to trolling, which is against the basic rules pretty much anywhere.

Whether Buelligan decides to stay or not, I've always appreciated his positive vibe and I hope he does.

Isnt Buelligan the fella that sold me a pillow for 5 bucks? If so he must be a great guy.
Everybody is a great guy one way or another I admit I can be a Richard cranium from time to time and at times will give my shirt off my back for a stranger.
It's part of being human!
I still have that memory foam piece for my camping pillow! ::008::

Yep. I have one of those from when he brought a bunch to the Colorado rally. He also provided a template for the under dash plate for the Gen 1 bikes.

if you offended some one with your opinion then you must be a great American who in this P/C climate is becoming a rare thing. when they can shout you down or get you to give up then they have won. this forum is about a bike made by Yamaha and the men and women who own and ride the machine... and the moderators do the best they can( I guess ) and we have to remember P/C has a lot of people afraid to be American ( remember free speech ) some times speech offends, but its your right to speak and express your self to your hearts content.... when we as Americans become afraid to express our selves then we might as well live some where else (pick a place ) because no where else in this world do you have the right to say what ever you want to say to any one you want to say it too.... and the p-------s(I GOT CENSORED BY THE MODERATORS the last time I got political ) would like nothing better than you and me and every one else just became compliant little mice doing what we are told , cause we might hurt our selves.... so if you want to give up that's your right, I say don't do it... nothing more American than a good ole fashioned (loud ) debate... if some one got there feelings hurt they should go talk to there mommies , or just man up... there are people from other nations who are active on this forum, they need to know that American Freedom is alive and well . we are still setting the example for a world that lives mostly in bondage. the bill of rights guaranties freedom of speech , not freedom from being offended by speech.... and for that there is the apology to the offended person...

one more thing, as a person we should not try to offend for the purpose of just being offensive, that is rude and provocative and may get you a poke in the eye. but you have the right to be rude and provocative , but it will not win people over to your argument.. if in the course of discussion disagreement occurs , and it will (and passions run strong) we have a common bond here on this forum and that is the super tenere.... we are not the enemy(cars are the enemy) to lose someone on this forum because of feelings is a sad thing... I am as passionate as any other person and I really like a strong debate , in the end we are all united in the love of our sport and the bike we chose to ride in this sport... and I laugh at BMW riders claims to great reliability over our bike , we know better.... if your a BMW guy reading this and you are offended , i'm sorry... and to our moderators, ya'll do a great job, I do not have to many complaints.... but some times you got to let people sort things out, I could complain and ask for action against others I find offensive , but they have a right to express them selves...name calling is never appropriate , and you have lost the argument when you go there... the forum is and will be a great place to express ideas sort out issues the bike may have (I have made some really cool friends , finding time to ride with them is the problem) but as time moves on, the forum is less relevant to those who have been here awhile, some times new guys get chastised for asking questions (when they should have looked it up in the search)this forum as it matures should be a little more tolerant of new guys.... BMW guys are not the enemy (cars are ) or any other brand ( I've always wanted a BMW myself) I wish all a very merry Christmas and look forward to a new year of meeting and making new friends ( maybe even a Harley guy )... hey does anyone own a dodge challenger, and if so what and other stuff do you like or dislike about it.. ( oh that's another forum)

I am already there with ya buddy! I haven't posted here in 8 months, and rarely even look at this board, and I own a Tenere. The current moderator thought that someone that doesn't even own a Tenere should be able to insult people and tell everyone else here what to do, and when I responded to the idiot I got a 'talking to' and was asked 'if I always act this way'. The other moron was never questioned. Well I don't need that crap, so I left. I have a feeling that if they don't shut that idiot up soon, and we all know who I am taking about here, plenty will leave. It isn't my board, so I couldn't care less. Have fun listening to that jerk. I won't be.

groan - Too bad you assert that you won't be here to read this then.

There are two mods here, not one.

We try to not do the moderating, cutting, or editing that happens on other forums including ADV. People said they didn't want it and we've generally tried to listen. The line is generally when we start insulting or attacking others, usually when guys forget that we're all an occasional a-hole and then hit the "Post" button. (Yup, I can be in that group.)
;)
Because we do need to draw a line somewhere, attacking or insulting other members has almost always been addressed by personal messages. You and the other member both got them, you weren't picked on. We generally don't broadcast doing this so you're clearly not aware of the warnings given to other members and they didn't know about yours till you mentioned it. Assuming we are referring to the same other member and since you said you've not been around, I guess you missed this from the CO UT BDR thread or the reference to it in this thread, above. Note the underlined text:

From the moderator stand point, it is totally expected that people in a forum for any model of vehicle are going to be for that vehicle. Hopefully with enthusiasm and happy about it.

It's also normal to occasionally bash other makes. Heck, we have a number of members who got burned on other brands.

It's one thing to attack a persons argument, versus insulting the person. It's another to have a comment escalate. While both have been happening here, this is different.

Going onto a forum of a different make, regularly pointing out the negatives (everything has them), and then being critical of the owners leaves bad feelings at best and is trolling at worst. Closing with "ride whatever makes you happy" is meaningless at that point. Damage done. PM's have been sent.

Let's get back to motorcycles and a positive vibe and have some more talk about the BCDR.

The Management

Without divulging what was in the pms, basically this was to let the general group know things were being addressed.

Something that has changed while you've been gone is that AvGeek and I realized that using no real discipline hasn't always worked. The pm's get most folks to re-read what they wrote before hitting the send button and it's water over the dam. But we've had a couple who've gone back to bullying, attacking, insulting, being know-it-alls, or whatever you want to call it. Because of this, we've brought back time-outs and one member has had his access shut off. We'd rather do this than lose guys like Buelligan.

Folks - We volunteered to be moderators because we really do want the forum to be an enjoyable place and the more active people are the better it is. While we sure as heck aren't perfect, please DO send a personal message to AvGeek or I if you like something, wonder about what's going on, or have a complaint.
