just a bit of advice to new 2014 owners regarding the new screen ...be very carefull when undoing the plastic wingnuts that loosen and tighten the screen bracket as they are very fragile ..as i found out ? ..the large wingnuts are only held on by a tiny snap on clip on the inside, so if your a bit heavy handed you can easily undo them a bit to far and this pushes the clip off and off pops your wingnut ...this can be an expensive mistake , mine fell off as i was travelling and it cost £12 for 1 wingnut + a pack of clips [ only come in a pack of 4 ]+ a cap for the end of the wingnut ...i have changed this std screen to a givi airflow now ..however if i was to put the std screen back on i would be thinking of away to replace the tiny clip for something a lot stronger ...."not up to your usual standards yamaha" ...

So, we now have proof that the Givi Airflow WILL fit on a 2014 if the adjusting mechanism is removed. Please advise if this is correct. Also, does it bolt right up to the stays, or require mods? Thanks!

The Stay is the same part number for all years, on the '14 the adjustable bracket is the only extra and it can be retrofitted to all of the previous years.

Put it this way:

With the '14 adjustable bracket - use '14 windscreen

'14 with the adjustable bracket removed - use previous years windscreen

Yes as HHH says the 2013 airflow fits on 2014 model after taking off the screen bracket ..the only mod I had to do was to use longer screws and put a couple of rubber washers behind the screen to bring it away from the panel as its different from the old model ...

Cool. How do you like the Airflow? I had a windbender on Goldwing and it worked on the same principle. It was fantastic. Have read a lot of good reports and think that will be my next farkle.......

i,m a big believer in the airflow, i had one on a new suzuki 650 v strom and it was great . on the motorway i could raise it up so that i was sat in still air , then when it got hot i would drop it and get cool air around me, you can adjust it when on the move and it only takes seconds , not many screens you can do all that with ... the airflow on my 2011 tenere was the same and i also had the side wind deflectors on [ these also fit from the 2013 model onto the 2014 ] ..i dont think that they are the best looking screen on the market but they do work brilliant ..

Could somebody post up a picture of the side deflectors? I see them in the catalog but no pictures mounted.

This is just something I thought might be useful. After reading this I wondered how much hassle it would be to lose a wing nut, so I have a box of assorted springs, found two heavy duty about 1/2" (12mm) in length. Took off the tiny cir-clip at the end of the nut, unwound it off, installed the spring, screwed the nut back on and have never had an issue since. The spring helps keep the tension on the nut.

Another vote for the Givi Airflow - Had one on my DL650 before, and it was the one of the first things I bolted onto my Tenere - fitted on to my gen2 just fine after removing the sliding mechanism and using a couple of spacers.
