I really wanted to love the 1290 R, but the ergos on the new bike just don't fit me. In concept, the new lower seat height should be amazing but for me, everything is wrong once in motion. I do love the engine and suspension on the 1290 R though.

ADV bikes not race bikes .... that is a beast for sure .... so today I'm trucking down the road in my WRX . it's not a slow car and it's certainly not the fastest around .... but it will do the speed limit any where in America as well as any 500000.00 dollar super car can at an affordable 34k price . and my old dated mechanical boring Super Tenere can do the speed limit any where in America as well as any of the FU money bikes you can find.

If you want a more even match up they should have used the KTM 1290 Adventure S. There are leftover '23 that can be bought for under $18K. A lot of bike for the money. The S model comes with a 2 year warranty too.

If I want to buy something overpriced I am leaning towards this baby

Starting price $391,000. Saw one at the Pancake House last week......Think it would fit in at the Waffle House too?

What happens if you unfortunately drop one of them, you know on one of those adventure rides.
Does the geeky stuff still keeps geeking or you have to have it taken in.
Just asking for a friend cause he doesn't like couch surfing while I'm trail blazing on my outdated moto.
Also what is the ratio between fun factor, adventure time and open up your wallet shop time?
Also asking for a friend.

Dropped the orange one a few times, all the fancy doo-dads continue to work. 11K miles of fun this year on it, couple hundred bucks total for the first dealer service and the 9600 mile checkup. No couch surfing and waaaayyy more giggles when you twist the go-go grip. YMMV.

I think whatever that is would look perfect outside of a Waffle House!I

I saw this outside a local barber shop in Wellington, FL. Had to send the picture to a friend to find out what it was. It's a LaFerrari. I think they're stupid expensive.

Imagine what a shopping cart would do to that paint job. 'Cuz ya' know that some jealous ass hat is going to "accidently" lose control of a cart.

I think it's cool when you see these exotic cars in normal places like the Pancake House or barber shop. Makes me think the owner bought it for himself not to impress other people.

Minor in comparison but back in '13 a friend bought a CVO RoadGlide. Gave like $30k for it. What did he proceed to do? Ride the snot out of it. Took it everywhere. Put like 90K on it in about 3 years. Only person I know of that actually rode his CVO Harley!
