Any reason for taking the battery out? Why not just leave on trickle charge, unless you have on street parking only.................. even then not really necessary to take the battery out. Curious to know why.

I'd go by something more meaningful than "looks." My battery has a battery tender on it and still spins the starter like new. I've never had a Yamaha sold to me with a battery not up to the job.

Hi Dogdaze
I rent a lockup from my local council it's underground and nice and secure, I've been there for years
The only downside is there's no power supply apart from the overhead lighting
So I always take the batteries off the bikes and take them home and put on my Optimate

I agree with Dogdaze I would put a power strip off that piece he showed us. Good stuff! now you can plug other things in too.

I always keep all my bikes on Battery Tenders when not riding. Always... except when traveling I don't carry a battery tender along.

Just a side note. My 2012 after the one year warranty was over the battery died. I tested it and it had a dead cell. I took it to the dealer and said, come on... just past warranty can't something be done. No was the answer from Yamaha... sorry you have to buy a new battery. ::007::

So I did I think it was like $70 it was still good in the bike when I sold it with 68,808 miles on it. The new Super T 2014ES now has over 21,000 mile and going strong. I figure I got a bad battery. So is life! Suck it up butter cup. Love me Yamaha! ::022:: ::008::
