I have some plans to do some fly/travel this spring and have to leave the Tenere at various locations. I used to have a
09 BMW GSA and was always warned about leaving the bike without a trickle charge for more than 10 days or so because of some electrical complications.
What is the thinking about leaving the Tenere without a trickle charge?
Am I good for 2-3 weeks?
How about just disconnecting the battery? What will I have to deal with if I do that?

Thanks

not really sure how it will take to it,
it's new, so it should be good for a few years, of regular use.
Three weeks might be a bit much, but then again all my bikes are on battery tenders, pretty much all the time,
The trickle charges, help it to be at optimum, and extend the life.
Got a reg. battery priced out locally $100, a new super light LI was $300,
hope they go down in price once I need a new one.

Sasaga,

Mine sits for 3 months at a time and maybe someone starts it every 2-3 weeks, and it always turns over. I suppose I should put it on a trickle charge, but starting it every 2-3 weeks has worked fine so far. You should be fine for 2-3 weeks...no worries there. remember its a Yamaha and not a BMW!!!

3 weeks?

I hope I never find out.

My tractor has sat that long before.
Heck, my truck probably has too.
But NOT my Tenere.

I would guess it will all depend on how much stuff you have "hanging" on your battery. In 2005 I had alarm installed on my R1 and it would drain battery in a week. You better off taking battery out and storing it somewhere at room temperature. It would take two minutes to put it back in and five if you do it with your feet :D . Good luck.
