Bad Ideas

I listened to the weather report (bad idea #1).

They said it was 37 this morning when I opened the garage door, it said 34 on my thermostat and was 37 when I went to bed. Never did hit freezing.

I pulled my SV off the charger (high of 51 predicted) anticipating a salty commute and not wanting to expose the Tenere.

Got to the end of my neighborhood and saw ICE across the intersection ???

Continued on (bad idea #2)

Dragged my boots across several ice patches as I approached the main road.

In spite of the sketch, I only slid once when my triple apex didn't quite hopscotch me through the 'wet' spots in the last curve before my work. I spent most of the day picking my seat cover out of my arse. It wasn't worth it, but I had fun on the "warm" dry ride home. Admit it...there were other bad ideas implemented today ::001::

Anything but riding would have been a bad idea.

Mom told me if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. It's best I not speak to you right now.

I deserve that DD.
But I want you to know that weather moment captured in that pic is downright RARE this winter. It's been miserable. Far beyond what we are used to.

So that was really a "relief" pic.
Most years it would be a nananananana pic, admittedly.

I would ship you a whole weeks worth if I could!

I'm just ready for spring. I am grateful that here at nearly 5PM it's still quite light out. Despite the misery of a 42 degree rain on my bicycle ride, I saw daffodils today and they improved my mood.

Just checked again. Now THIS I feel a bit guilty:

Still following mom's rule. :'(

I do remember living in Central Texas and going to the lake in February, so I know what it's like. Our snow for a few hours this morning didn't accumulate enough to notice...guess I can be happy about that...right?

I did ride today. Twice, in fact.
Nothing far because nothing official. Strapped to honey-do's and the truck for most of this fine day.
Now tomorrow, after church, it's suppose to be a day of leisure. I'm working on a jaunt. :)

Looks like I'll be riding tomorrow, too. My ride will be yellow and have a big plow out front. That few hours of snow didn't look like it added much, but been drifting a lot this evening. I'll get to "ride" the ATV out to clean it up.

Not much in the way of riding going on over this side of the pond for many of us. Temperatures have generally been mild for a change but most of the UK seems to be under water at the moment, especially in the South West and areas along the river Thames . Thankfully there's no major flooding where I live but the land is completely saturated and the run off is leaving huge amounts of standing water on the roads. That and the debris left by the ferocious winds that accompanied this incessant rain have left my local roads looking like an aquatic obstacle course. If things don't dry up soon, I'm going to have to consider part ex-ing my beloved S10 for a bloody jet ski. :'(
