That would work with a solo set-up as well, wouldn't it. I needed a back rest on my cruiser, haven't felt the need for one on this bike yet. Good to see there is a reasonable direction to go out there.

Hi Don,

It would not work with a solo setup unless you somehow had a securely fashioned metal plate over the place where the back seat would install.

While this wasn't the least expensive method the quality meets my requirements.

That looks solidly mounted and the back rest looks very well built.

I also like how the cover blends nicely with that of the Russel saddle. Nice mod!

Thank you, Russell upholstered it to match and adjusted the backrest to fit my wife's back

Bill, are you out there? left you a pm never heard from ya. I talked with Kim yesterday at Russell and she said my seat height would increase by about a inch and a half, is that right? I want to do the upgrade but wont be able to ride in as you did may have to pay extra shipping before it gets covered. Looks like your seat has a lowered area that may help getting your feet to the ground that is my concern. Did you have the drivers backrest option done? I will be, and was wondering if I will be able to use it with my wife on the back. They said they will help me with passenger rest so they will match I will have to figure out how to mount the support, I have the Touratech stainless rack to work with. Is that the graphite in leather? looks great.
