It seems everytime I have a bike I really love, it has to go in order to pay for something stupid, like dental work, food, gas, clothing... you know, mundane stuff...

My previous 2012 had to go for such a reason back in 2018. Absolutely loved that bike, but that's spilled milk under the bridge, which brings us to today:

Bought this honey at the local motorcycle super center today.. 2012 with 18000 miles and pretty well farkled with luggage, lighting, cruise control, heated grips and a few other doodads. Luggage is Givi Trekker flavored with an interesting configuration.. the side boxes are different sizes for some reason. It works, just looks a bit weird.
Next order of business is a bash plate, and I'd really like to find an OEM muffler. It has some kind of raspy slip on installed and though it sounds kinda cool, I prefer the quiet from the stock one.
Henry approves of the purchase so that makes it all good.

Anyway, it's good to be back on a Super Tenere, plus the FJR I picked up last week was looking lonely.

I do have a 2022 KLR I've been futzing around with, but really missed the big Yamaha iron.

Hello from Utah! I just returned to the Super Tenere fold after a hiatus as well. I also used to be the proud owner of an FJR...maybe even the same year as yours (2008?) That is a great bike. If I had more room in the garage, I might track another one down. Congrats on the new additions!

I think the luggage must be because they are mounted in the wrong place. The smallest one should be on the exhaust side (so that they protrude the same distance from the center of the motorcycle)
Like I said, it just looks weird, no matter how you position them. For comparison:

The left side mount does protrude about 3/4" more than the right, but......Nah, not gonna happen. I have no idea how the PO rode around like this.

I'll be exploring options and will probably go with the stock set up. It served me well in the past. Also, a set of Shinko 805's are on the way.

Thanks, I'll be in your area this summer for sure. Looking forward to Cathedral Valley, Moki, White Rim and the Burr for starters.

Not sure where the CC came from or hell, if it even works. To snowy and icy around here to properly wring it out

If you load them up, you’ll just ride around in circles!
