While on a trip last week I discovered a fantastic place to camp in the National Forest just outside Brevard, NC. It is about 2-3 miles down Cathey's Creek Rd on the north side of Highway 64 west of Brevard (35 deg 13' 16.8" N 82 deg 47' 55" W). A nice flat camping site with two fire pits and enough room for 15 tents.

But the best feature was the stream with two waterfalls only a few feet from my tent.

Just thought I'd pass this along. Hopefully, someone can find and camp there. I slept like a baby with the sound of rushing water nearby all night.

Being in dry Cal gotta admit I'm jealous of that camping spot.

My grandparents lived in Roxboro NC and spent many summers there as a wee lad.

Sounds and looks like a great campsite.

Would this be the campsite? https://goo.gl/maps/qXJtF

That's it. The actual campsite is a little right of the marker beside the road.

Nice area. I have ridden or driven Catheys Creek Rd likely well into the hundreds of times and never looked at that campsite. Of course, I live 45 minutes away so there really is no reason to camp there. But you are most correct... that is a wonderful campsite. And there are many more like up to to Gloucester Gap and then along 475 and 475b up to Looking Glass Rock. The Pisgah is a wonderful place to play. Now it would be even better if we could get the USFS to allow dualsports on the gated-off accessory forest roads.
