Done about 10,000km in 2 months, 20% off, the rest on road. I usually find something to moan about, but i cant with these tyres. Plenty wear left, grip well off road and good in the wet, they are quiet and smooth, the front is wearing really well. Definitely will buy a second set.

Did you say that the tires are finished now at the 10,000K?

How many more miles do you think they have before gone?
Loads left, probably another 7 to 10.

Wow! Can you post your weight and tyre pressure that you normally run, because a lot of people, myself included, only run on road, but 'grippy' tyres only last about 6k miles before wearing out or squaring off and lose their grip. How are you finding the 'on road' grip.

Yes more details please... 17 to 20,000K on ANY tire has got my attention. Sounds impossible.
Being from Oz, I he is talking km, not miles, Brick. Sounds like 10 to 12 k miles. Still very good if talking about a back tire (tyre).

Yes, I am aware that K is kilometers not miles. Still in an every day riding I never get 10 or 12,000 miles on tires. Of note I did get 9 - 10,000 miles on a Tourance during a trip. But my travel, trip, miles are always a bit less... spirited shall we say. ::025:: This is why I asked for more information from Ozbunce. He could be very "conservative" with the right wrist... I don't know. That can make a BIG difference in tire wear!

I do, and I like to spin it up off road,I do 160km a day, 5 days a week, then go bush at weekends. I va had the Tenere for 8 months coming up for 30.000km. Most of the km would be upright and the middle of the tyre is wearing well. I got about 15,000km on the original Bridgestone, I fitted a pair of Anakee 3 and Michelin gave me my money back due to problems with vibration on the front end.

Thanks Ozbunce that helps quantify your riding! ::026:: I may check out these Avon Trailrider tires but right now I'm really loving my TKC 70's. I only have ~ 2,500 miles 99.9% on road and really love them so far. Time and miles will tell all!

I have 3 days and 385 kms on a brand new set of Avon Trailrider Tires,
coming off the Michelin Anakee 3 and an 80 day winter hiatus.

Dry road conditions: the tires roll left, right changing direction very easily and quickly.
It is early in year with a lot of pee gravel still on the roads, so I am not pushing it.

I was hoping for a little more time before the Wet road experience:

wet, snow, rain mix... sticky, wiping the visor every 3 seconds, building on the wind screen and packing on driving lights:

very impressed with the wet hold and ability to maintain highway speed with and exceeding traffic...

Only time and riding will tell how long they last and what the wear pattern is...

Right now, I like them more than the Anakee 3.....

I finally put a set of Trailrider tires on my 14 ES. Yesterday I put the first around 220 miles on them. It seemed to take forever to rub off the mold release agent then it was really unsure with them. Not sure I was going to like them. Did get about 30 miles of gravel and they were ok... just ok. On some damp dirt they seemed to be slipping around some. The last 50 miles I rode down NC 226A aka Diamondback (they are naming all the nice curvy roads) and they did very well.
I think I'm going to like these. I hope to get some good milage out of them. I'm going to the www.ridemsta.com's TriSTAR rally in Sparta, NC this coming weekend so we will see.
Anyone want to give an update on how long this tire lasts? I'd love to hear it.

Here's some real world tire life data on the Trailriders. I put a set on in May and just replaced them with 6555 miles on them. The rear was almost showing cords. The front still has a fair bit of tread, but is badly cupped to the point that it was causing front end shimmy. About half of the tire life was with the bike unloaded the other half was on a 3200 mile trip through Wyoming and Montana. On the trip, the bike was loaded with camping gear, but not super heavy. None of the miles were with passenger. I weigh about 190lbs with my riding gear. For normal riding the tires were inflated to 36 rear and 32 front and for the trip I went up to 40 rear and 36 front. I do tend to brake into and sometimes in corners, so the cupping on the front may be from that. Overall I was happy with the performance but a bit disappointed with the life. They stick well and are confidence inspiring in corners and also seem to do well in the wet. I never got a chance to try them offroad, so I can't comment on that. Other than longevity, they were an improvement over the stock Bridgestones. My new tires are Pirelli Scorpions and I am looking forward to trying them out.

I heard reports of mileage in excess of 10,000 from the group that rides around world and is sponsored by Avon. I bought the tires to replace the original Battle Wings at 6500 Miles. I am now at 9900 miles and I am starting to shop for tires again. I will probably get no more than the OEM Bridgestones at this rate. The rear is halfway to gone. The roads in FL are often wet, but since I am too old for riding sideways, I can't really state how well they work on wet roads. Just don't believe the reports you might read about lasting as long as the German tires.
