I would like to install some HID aux lights on my ST but my knowledge of electrics is very weak. Can anyone point me in the right direction for installation of this item on my super tenere?

The lights will simply have pos and neg wires coming from them. I would assume I need to attach an inline fuse? Is there some sort of ready hookup location under the headlamp?

I would like to have a completely independent on/off switch for these as well

thank you

I'm pretty sure that there will be a lot of how to's once bikes start coming in, but here's what I recommend:

If there is room and I decide to farkle up with electrics, such as a Stebel horn, pwer plugs for charging or electric clothing, aux lighting, etc., I will first install a Blue Seas power strip where possible. I put it under the seat in my V-Strom. Hook up the power strip straight to the battery, both +/- sides. Grounding to frame of bike is not the best way and can cause problems. You can dedicate some connections for switched and some for unswitched. I would not hook up a GPS to switched, but would with aux lighting. With a Blue Seas terminal board, all connections will be seperately fused plus the main hookup to the battery should be fused.

Here is what they look like: http://www.amazon.com/Fuse-Block-Ato-Circuit-Ground/dp/B000THQ0CQ

They are easy to install and will isolate each seperate accessory straight to the power source (battery).

I don't recommend tapping anything into bike wiring, as the wiring on the bike is designed for the bike, not farkles and is most likely minimum to do the job.

You can find more info at several sites, including Stromtroupers.com and FJRForum.com

bvail,

I take it the blue sea box you refer to is "all circuits unswitched" and you construct your own conection to the battery with its own fuse? I've be looking at the the 3 circuit solution from eastern beaver. I'll wait to get the bike to see what kinda of room I have to work with.
