My S10 arrives in Portland in three weeks 7-7-13. We will doing a 11 week ride up to Alaska, across north Central Canada then to the great lakes before heading south.
My S10 does not have heated grips, I have recently seen a product called Hippo Hands. I was wondering if any one has used this product before? Are they needed this time of year or would good waterproof gloves be enough? I would appreciate any feedback.

They work fantastic. Really cut down the wind. They work best in conjunction with heated grips but do pretty good by themselves, too.

I've got a set that is just collecting dust in my basement. If you want I can knock the spiders out and send them to you in Portland as long as you send them back when you're done. Lord knows I wont be needing them in Georgia for several more months.

This is British Columbia on the 4th of July. You might find a use for them...

You need to be comfortable I would be going with heated grips for sure. I did Alaska last year lots of rain and cold days I used Held warm n dry with heated grips with great results. Don't cheep out go for the heated grips.

Hippo Hands are awesome. I used a similar product meant for ATVs last winter, and rode several thousand miles in the low 20s. I still used heated gloves/pants/jacket though (Gerbing) - it was nice to be able to have some extra warmth.
