I mean does the cat make the stock (gen2) exhaust hotter... I've been on the road for about a week now, and my right foot gets hotter than my left foot. By a lot. It's noticeably hotter on that side. I'm wondering if the arrow headers help with that.

In a nut shell, yes! Catalytic converters have to reach a certain temp to then burn off harmful exhaust emissions, so pipes will invariably get hotter as the gas's build up, straight through pipes run cooler (you will still burn your leg though!!)

i've never noticed heat with my full arrow system.
I did notice it wakes the bike up a whole bunch...

now now...I ride my FJ09 to work most days. But will be using the tenere more often.
It usually quiets down once it kick off the high idle. Besides, everyone should be up by 6am. :D

I'd be running just the header upgrade. I like quiet bikes now.,too.
I'm not sure if there's any advantage to swap out the 2014 headers to the arrows. The 2014 has no crossover pipe, and is better designed than the 1st gen.
You'll open up the headers, then block everything with the stock pipe.
the headers are a performance thing only. In order to see the actual bike at a true 100hp at the wheel, you'll need the headers, and stock slip on gone.
