I had one on my ST1300, didn't care for the breakaway at all. Expensive and I felt the Vista Cruise worked better, have one on both the ST1300 and SuperTen.
Mellow,

How did you secure the Vista to the throttle assembly? Tape, glue, etc. ? Looks like a winner.

I had the Brakeaway on my VTX. Worked like a hot damn and I really liked it. However, as I ease into my platinum years, I'm finding I don't like the notion of locking my throttle at all. I do have a cheapie little Go Cruise I think they call it, but I am very selective when I use it anymore. It's an old guy thing I think. The Brakeaway is a nice unit but only works on certain bikes. It would not fit on my ST1300 so check it out before you buy. It's pricey. R

I just bought a Go Cruise but have not installed it. Agree with rem on the use of a cruise control. Interstate most likely.

Throttle lock is great when you have an itch that needs scratching, etc. or just need to shake circulation back into the right hand. Not neccessarily an old guy thing, but I do qualify in that area. Not worth a darn for LD cruising though. For that you need a real cruise control. I put one on the V-Strom and it came real handy for those long stretches on the Alcan Highway.

My GL1800 has the factory cruise control and once when crossing North Dakota south to north on a blue highway, straight but rolling hills and towing a camper trailer, I set the cruise and sat back with my hands off the bars for ten miles. I think the fact that I use a car tire on the rear and was pulling a trailer made it easy. You just have the find the balance sweet spot (on my wing I lean forward a bit) and relax ::001:: Not dangerous stunt >:D riding, just something to do while mile munching.
