First thread, new here to forum.

I am trying to setup a super ten for my wife and I to head down South for a week long date coming up here soon. I have tried just putting my ipad into the tank bag and running my android phone hotspot to show where we are. Has anyone out there used an ipad or ipad mini for their GPS purposes? The Garmin 665 with weather is cool, but a few pennies more than I would like to let go of. It would be nice to use something that is more versatile on a daily, hourly basis. I have heard of the Garmin Glo and Dual Electronics external GPS units to aid with the iPad during ForeFlight app for aviation. Not sure if this would work for riding hwys, dirt roads, etc.?

Thanks for any direction because I'm lost,

JBJKE

I occasionally run mine in rental cars and it'll do road navigation, but will quit in a tank bag.
The screen turns off at 95 degrees and the surface temp can quickly reach that in the sun.

Welcome aboard.

Saw a DL1K with an iPad mounted in a Ram-mount cradle & arm with a Bad Elf nav device. Guy said it worked well but looked a bit large to me, so a mini-might be a better fit. Not sure how the iPad works with gloves on. The Bad Elfs have some pretty good write-ups.
