Anyone in T mode and gas mileage?

Last couple days I decided to relax in T mode after zinging around in Sport for so long, my flash was set to super sport and soft Tour.
Running speeds between 65 and 75 mph I noticed my gas consumption had gone down considerably.
Managed to pull 230 miles before reserve and took 4.6 gals to fill.
Felt good to cruise for once and not be in such a hurry.
Sounds like I could have pulled 300+ miles before I ran out?

I use T mode all the time. Lots of power for me and smooth too. Not sure how far I can go on a tank, but yesterday I was cruising along at 105 km/h and it was reading 5.0l/100 km. If that's accurate, it's over 300 miles to a tank.

I normally run in T-mode, that's not to say I don't like S-mode, I just cannot pay fines and have a bike, I have to choose one. I normally fill when the F-light comes on, fill about 17/18L and mileage about 220-230, that put me in a 260-270 mile tank range before I really must look for gas. I'm currently running 19km/L.

A lot of my riding is commuting or off pavement where I don't need S mode wither.

I don't think that you could actually get that mileage out of it for real. I average about 42-45 MPG but I don't ride quite so meekly or it would possibly push 50 MPG? On the Highway I am almost always over 70 mph which drops the mileage down drastically for me.

I'm usually in T mode, because sport is just less comfortable in stop & go city commuting. Indicated mpg is usually in the 46-50 range, depending on how much I'm doing start/stop and how far over the speed limit things get. I've eeked a couple of 54 mpg tanks out of the Tenere, but it's pretty dreadful. I typically fill somewhere between 200-220 miles on the odometer.

There's an older thread where a couple of people have gotten somewhere around 300 miles (just short of?), but they really had to work for it, keeping a constant 55 on the highway.

Put 1300 miles on last weekend and got about 37mpg, speeds 60-85. (TX, NM, AZ) with a headwind.in T mode running Mitas E-07, after market windsheild and big givi outbacks.

Normal riding I'm typically getting 50 mpg or more ave., it drops slightly when 70 mph for extended periods. I've not tried to go past 250 miles on a tank yet.

Filled up yesterday, 232 miles 5.1 gallons =45.4 mpg , the Yamaha onboard mpg thing said 49 point something I don't remember mpg, i really should try a full tank of sport mode to see how it changes.

have run down to fumes on 2 occasions and managed to get 21 litres in both times, in T mode round city that worked out to just over 40mpg (UK), on open (country) road I get mid to high 40's but never get speed much above 50mph round here for very long (eastern England doesn't do motorways)

the mpg computer is always about 10% high in my opinion, and in the UK the speedo's have to over read (not allowed to under read) so maybe the 2 are linked and hence the inaccuracy? I know from my gps the speedo can be over 5% high

no idea in S mode - don't really use it much, bit of an old fart I guess

T is for two up, town or terrible (weather or road).
S is for silly.
So I tend to switch between the two modes all the time on every ride.
Onaverage I get 55 to 60 mpg (UK). If I'm riding with the tin boxes that normally snaffles 2 to 5 mpg due to air resistance.
I've not run a full tank of silliness yet though...

I'm in T-Mode most of the time as the S-mode is not good at all for stop and go traffic but is absolutely fun on pavement in the twists ::26::, just got to keep and eye out for the police!

I run in S mode consistently and get 50-55 mpg depending on how enthusiastically I'm riding. (That is measured gas mileage, not the computer reading. The computer is bad at math and always reads high for mileage and miles left in the tank.) I'll have to give T mode a shot to see if it makes a difference here at altitude.

I ride in T mode all the time and at 80-85 mph on the highway I get 180 miles until "f" starts to flash. I will then put in a little over 4 gallons, so I get about 42 mpg with the Yamaha panniers.

21.5 km per l on commuting. 5 km of twisties, 10km of traffic and 10 km of freeway. T mode made bearable with +3 CO settings. Mileage are 4k km. Calculated. Computer shows 23.7kml average.

I only use T-Mode, the S-mode is too jumpy for me and I don't like to ride like that. The gas in my state is 10% ethanol by law so that will lower my MPG number. I ride mostly pretty moderately, not fast and not slow. My S-10 is armored up with crash bars, skid plate, rear pannier racks, axle sliders and top case, plus me weighing a little over 200 lbs. All the factors being considered, my overall mileage is about 42 MPG these days.

I only use T mode for the same reason as TaskMaster.

Recently took a 3 day trip to the Eastern Sierra for some 'Riding with an Altitude'. Checked my gas mileage riding there; 46 mpg. Checked the last three tanks; 48 mpg, 49 mpg, 48 mpg. The last tank was from Lee Vining CA - Bishop CA - US-395 - Minden NV(TechSpec) - South Lake Tahoe - US-50 - Sacramento CA for 241 miles.

I have found over the last 69,000 miles that Tenere gets excellent gas mileage in the mountains. Guessing it has to do with off throttle time. I usually shop a Chevron and use their 91 octane, of course with crappy California ethanol gasoline.

I sure envy the fellas getting 50+...I've never got close. I am typically high 30's to mid 40's (though in all fairness, I haven't checked it at all in the last 3k miles or so, so maybe I'm doing better now ::). I ride both sport or T, depending on my mood/road. I have found that the new pipe (Yoshi RS4) I put on a few days ago "seems" to have eliminated some of the twitchy feeling when in sport and I suspect that will only help MPG. With that said, I typically ride fairly hard. I still like to "hit it" once in a while and I'll cruise the slab at 75+ (actual, not "indicated) fairly often. No complaints really. I may try one of these days just to see what happens at a steady 60 or so...
