Anybody got a spare spoke to sell?

Here's the story: I didn't check my spokes regularly and one of them (a rear spoke) came loose, started flopping around and got bent. A new set costs about 80 bucks, but I only need 1. So, is there anybody out there who has had similar issues and has purchased an entire set and would like to sell a couple of spokes?

No, my othere bike isn't a KLR. ::025::

Tell ya what Mr. Twisty,

I'll go 1/2 with ya. You buy a set, I'll buy half from you.
Or if a couple of other fellas want to join, we could get it down to 20 bucks. :)

More than one way to skin a cat.

I have no idea how many different spokes are in a set though. And I assume the front and rear are different yet?

Shame I'm too far away, I have some spokes.

Why you need to buy the whole set? My dealer sold me just a couple to have some spares...

There are 4 different spokes: 2 in front and 2 rear.

Jamie - I've already contacted my local dealer and they don't have any. They have contacted Yamaha and are waiting for a response.

Snakebitten - If my dealer isn't successful, that's what I'll do. I'll just buy a full set and offer the spare ones up on here because I'll never use them all. Of course, you've got first dibs. Yes, the front and rear are different, but I think all of the front ones are the same and all of the rear ones are also the same. I could be wrong.

put me in and tell me where to send the paypal $20. There are over 25 bikes here in the PNW which some day may need a spoke or two.
If not the yamaha spokes, Woody's sells replacements.

Well, regardless, that sounds like a solution!

4 fellas slicing up a set.
According to Jaime, there are 4 different spokes on our bikes. I would just need a couple of each. Well worth a $20 spot, I say.

Good job forum. :)

Okay, I'm going to order a set and we'll split them 4-ways. That should give us all plenty of spares. I'm not in this to profit, so I'll just charge 1/4 the cost of the spokes + shipping. We'll use PayPal if that's okay.

I received the spokes and it looks like we will split them 4 ways between Snakebitten, GSteve, HoebSTer and myself. I paid $80 for them and there are 32 spokes in a set, so that's 8 spokes each for $20 + shipping. I figure shipping will cost about $3, so if you send $23 via PayPal to michaelknauss@comcast.net, I will send you 8 rear spokes.

That was a great idea Snakebitten. Thanks.

Correct. There is a slight difference in the length of the spokes. I will be sending each of you 4 long and 4 short spokes. Please note that the long ones go to the outside and the short ones go to the inside.

I sent GSteve's spokes out today. I tried to send them yesterday, but the line was out the door at the post office, so I left and sent the wife today. :) He should bet them Friday.

Hey Snakebitten and HoebSTer, do you guys still want in? If so, send $23 to my PayPal account (michaelknauss@comcast.net).
