My pleasure, really liked your choice of mods. If you ever decide to sell some of them separately I'll be first in line. Absolute bargain at 12.5...

A dealer an hour away has a demo 2013 S10 that I'm interested in. 2,000 miles and comes with a full warranty. Are there any horror stories about buying a demo S10 that I should be aware of before signing the dotted line?
A dealer near me tried to sell me a demo bike for the same price, but I got mine from my local dealership for less OTD for a brand new one.

I rode the demo in Ventura ca. And it's. For sale for the same price as yours (not sure of your location ) but if that's the bike which it sounds it may be it is very clean and that's a fair price out the door. The bike is pretty much bullet proof. Tell them they must throw in the YES plan and go for it ! ::008::

Did you ever get to do a demo ride ? I'm in Los Angeles and would be willing to let you ride my S10 provided I ride with you on the bike you own now. Maybe do lunch at newcombs ranch on H-2. Let me know PM. :lamp:

I appreciate your generous offer, however it won't be necessary. This morning, I was able to do a short demo ride, and decided to buy a new 2013 Grey S10. Only have 55 miles on the bike so far, but it really is getting better by the mile. I am already liking it way more than I expected to.

I ride possibly the most expensive US Tenere in the country. (MSRP PDP)

I've ridden since 1969. More bikes than I can list. But if the value equation is V = Hoe + Lm / PP$, this is by far the least I have ever paid to keep my cup full.

*Hoe (Hours of enjoyment
*Lm (Lifetime memories)
*PP$ (Purchase Price)

9% sales tax on a vehicle?

Holy cow. That's extortion.

Better than the 20% our government whack on - and that's on top of some of the highest Yamaha prices in the world as a staring point, the 2013 bikes are $19,791 on the road in the UK at todays exchange rate, of which £3297 goes straight into government coffers (20% Value Added Tax - VAT) that's before you pay another £100+ for "Road Tax" and then $2.22 for a litre of fuel (of which about 75% goes right into government coffers)

And to add insult to injury our roads are now some of the worst in Europe having been in decline since the 1970's with spending dropping year on year whilst money raised from the motorist has constantly increased, I had better not get started on what they are spending all this money on

You should see the NY real estate taxes. Ouch!! I grew up there, and never returned as soon as I could leave. There's a lot of reasons to make that an easy decision.

Taxes in VA on a new bike are not that bad, I think 3.5%. But there is an annual property tax on all registered vehicles and trailers that over the years makes the overall tax burden on a vehicle pretty high. Never had the stomach to do the calculation.
