I thought I would make it official and introduce myself.

Just got the bike on the 31st and have been doing little rides here and there (once in a deluge at night). I decided to go for it after a night of lobbying against from a bunch of BMW riders, and the dealer making strong concessions for the end of the year.

I'm 6'5" with a 36" inseam so I had to find the tallest bike out there, and then went for the one that seemed the most capable.
I have a bunch of guys at work that are completely jealous, and every ride tells me that I made the right choice.

My major drawback is that I live way too close to the TouraTech North American office, other than that I have a hard time getting the stupid grin off my face.

My first serious bike was an 84 XS 650 so it's nice to come back to Yamaha.

Welcome! I grew up in Federal way, but that was so long ago. You should crash the local Starbucks to let all those Beemer riders know there's a new kid in town..maybe even bump the table just enough send a ripple across their their lattes as you walk by. 8)
