If you're going to spend most of your time OFF road, lightly loaded, the AT would probably fit you better. For ANY other conditions, the Tenere is the way to go. Shaft drive, cruise control, 6.5 gal fuel tank, and the ability to be loaded up like a rented mule are some of the top reasons; AND she'll handle like a sport bike when you need her to. id add that the long term reliability of the xt is un matched. The oil cooled bmw has only been out for two years so I’m not up on what costs will be but the oil cooled ones were high maintenance machines. I’ll admit that they were way more impressive to ride.
