I hope you all don't get bored with my ride reports but it was -10 out on it's way up to - whatever.
I have the day off and there isn't a hole lot to do outside on a day like this. So here it goes again.
This is a trip eight of us went on a couple years ago. We loaded up the trailer with bikes and hauled them to Colorado for a few days of exploring and single track riding.
This is the Gang from left to right is Joey [my son in-law ] Nick, Dakota, Eric [my son], Troy, Clint, and myself.
The first half day was spent riding on some jeep roads so Joey ,Dakota, and Nick could get used to it [first timmers]
Then we hit the Rainbow trail to do some good single tracking. We carry or camping gear too so we can just camp in the remote back country.
Joey did great so my daughter didn't have to worry too much. He just had one big crash latter in the trip when his confidence got the best of him.
Dakota went down and broke his handlebars off. We had to loosen the clamps and move them over to clamp down on the break.
One night while camping I noticed my bike had become a disaster kitchen, loundromat, and bath area.
A trip to Colorado just isn't complete without going up Mt. Antero and climbing to the peak.
That is the peak of Mt. Antero staight above Nick in the yellow shirt.
At the top 14,269 feet There is no other place in Colorado that feels as high as the top of Mt. Antero.
We rode up to the Pride of the West Tunnel . In 1880 they had a two story hotel built over the entrance . The tunnel was never completed but goes way back in there.
Anouther group shot We had a great time and most of us have been back every year , My son in-law won't miss it for anything now, so he fits right in around here.
Here is a couple without anyone uglying them up.
