I agree with you about the Tourances.RED CAT said:They are in my opinion the best all round tire out there unles you're into mud or sand. I like them better than Tourances. The rear Tourance tends to wear flat in the middle where as the Anakees stay nice and round for the duration. Also the front Tourances can become unbalanced after a couple 1000 miles and cause the front end to wobble at slow speed. ::001::
Here's a picture of the Anakee II tires on my wife's Tenere in a mud situation.snuffcityrider said:Wonder how it does off road. The tread pattern looks simular to the Metz.
Agree with Dirt Dad. The Anakees are my Fave 80/20 tire but when it gets slippery you have to be careful. However the percentage of times that has been a problem WAS small on the Strom. I am sensing it may be looking at a more dirty tire as time goes on. But Anakees are generally OK for a normally dry dusty country like mine.Dirt_Dad said:Here's a picture of the Anakee II tires on my wife's Tenere in a mud situation.
I've run Anakee II's for years on my Vee, wife's Wee and put them on my S10 which has become my wife's bike. They are a very good road tire. They are okay off pavement, better than some others, dramatically better than Trail Wings, but in the end they are truly an 80/20 tire. Since I find we are doing more and more off pavement I'm going to install a set of K60s to see if they will do better than the Anakee's. If they work for me I'll abandon the Anakee setup on my wife's bike as well.
My K60's from Tabasco are due in Saturday. I'll mount them then head off for Western North Carolina in less than a week. Looking forward to seeing how they do.tiogajoe said:Just had a set of K60 's from Tabasco spooned on my S10. Yes they are a Little more vibey than the OEM tire but nothing that you can't live with. I just was out this evening on a mix of road surfaces and I almost forgot I had changed my tires just 2 days ago. You become use to these tires that quickly. They realy shine on lose gravel and dirt. Still can throw the bike around like I'm running street tires to boot ::015::
What is the V and H rating?YamaPA said:Yeah, sign me up for the "V-compound tire"...I dont want no stiinkin' "H-compound tire".
I'm kinda with you. I'll stick to the K60's for my bike, for me they kick butt!tiogajoe said:Just had a set of K60 's from Tabasco spooned on my S10. Looking forward to installing mine as well, but doubt I will run them after my Whitehorse trip. Still considering the Conti, but this Anakee is looking interesting!tiogajoe said:Just had a set of K60 's from Tabasco spooned on my S10. H is rated to 130mph, V is rated to 149mph. Has to do with how the tire heats up at higher speeds. If you're worried about whether H rated tires are manly enough, let me note that the K60s that are so beloved by the hardcore guys are T rated, which is (only) 118mph. I wouldn't sweat it. Get what you like in whatever rating is available.tomatocity said:What is the V and H rating?
