Does anyone have the Roadside assistance benefit provided by AMA. Supposedly for the cost of membership and providing a credit card for automatic renewal it is provided. Sounds reasonable if it works.
Gawd!!! Talk about saving Us from ourselves! Those rims look like something I had on a BMX bike from the 80's.Checkswrecks said:I also have it and have not had to use it. There is a limit to towing distance if that matters for you.
I've been a long time member of AMA since long before they had this.
Without them we would all be walking, have no dirt access, or riding one of these:
In this great Country of lawyers and lobbyists, the AMA is the one of the only voices speaking on behalf of 2-wheeled motorists. Hopefully they use more than 4 cents out of each dollar to bribe those bozos in Congress.Chickengrease said:Not at all a fan of the AMA. I see it more as a fundraising organization than a motorcycle advocacy group. Like a charity that spends 96 cents of every dollar raised on salaries and the rent of fancy offices.
Google America's worst charities (won't let me paste link for some reason)
Anyway, I went to their offices/museum in Ohio and felt my membership dues were being misappropriated. Never have been able to find out what the payroll or expenses are, and I asked.
The AMA is nonprofit but not a charity. I seriously doubt it would show up on any list of charities, good or bad. It would be interesting to see a breakdown of where the money goes, though. Same for AARP, NRA and all of the major nonprofit "advocacy" groups.Chickengrease said:Not at all a fan of the AMA. I see it more as a fundraising organization than a motorcycle advocacy group. There are many more productive causes any "motorcyclist" can get involved in, than bashing the AMA.Chickengrease said:Not at all a fan of the AMA.
