Approx June 15, 2014, I call Twisted Throttle and ask about the MRA X screen top piece for a 2014. They tell me they just got 152 of them, they just aren't checked in yet. So I order. Soon my account states they will ship on the 25th of June. Called them today on the 25th and am told they "should" arrive from Germany in a week or 10 days. But they do have the smoke, so I asked for them to ship one of those......

So, I get pretty impatient with companies who tell me one thing and do something different.
I thought Twisted Throttle was pretty good people, but on this order, they have not come thru.

The only problem is that options for windscreen improvements on a 2014 are limited right now, and I am sure there is demand for these items.

When you get delayed more than once, do you find it easy to just forget about it and wait for the item???
I find that difficult. My dad used to always say "don't get in such a hurry". Maybe he was right???

Yep, you're wrapped a bit to tight... ::025::

Sit down, take a couple of deep breats, close your eyes, and R-E-L-A-X.
The 14's are new to the market parts and accessories are not yet flowing freely....
it'll work out OK for ya..
deep breaths...
...
deep breaths...

Learn to enjoy the anticipation of the farkling process. Relax. It's not like you don't already have a windscreen. You will be OK, I assure you..

I don't know.... I have to somewhat agree with the OP. I've also ordered a several things from TW. It seems the default ship date for every order is two weeks.

Major example: I ordered Macna jacket and pants for both me and my wife. After placing the order, I got an email that the expected ship date was two weeks. Two weeks came and went and so I called and was told the estimated ship date was 6 weeks in the future.

Since we needed these for a long trip, I canceled the Macna order and instead ordered Olympia jacket and pants from another vendor. I got the Olympias two days later.

So, in this day and age of instant customer service for most things, it is hard to understand a company that doesn't at least try to come close to the competition.

I have ordered from Twisted Throttle a few times and have had good experiences each time. That being said, I don't think you're wrapped too tight at all.

When you are buying something and paying good money for it, you should be given accurate and honest information. If they said they had them in stock they should have shipped from that stock. Them stating that they hadn't been "checked in" was not an honest answer if they still hadn't received the shipment. If they were anticipating a shipment in two weeks they should have stated that up front, and if that shipment was delayed you should have been notified.

Just my two cents. I think Twisted is a great company, but this wasn't handled very well IMHO.

I must be wrapped a little tight also!
Lately when I've ordered something on the internet and the company states that the product is (In_stock) only to find out that's a load of crap, does Piss me off!
Just saying!

I do believe you just answered your own question!!

OOP's!

Used the dreaded Yellow highlighted letters.. ;D

I found being an Aries as my wife points out to me when I come off the chain from time to time.
I tend to order something like a week before I need it and think it's going to show up tomorrow..
Sort of like watching a pot come to a boil and using a blow torch to help speed it up. :-\

I vote "Not wrapped too tight". If you had "Told Them" when you wanted it and they weren't able to deliver, then I would say tuff luck. But when you ask, when can I expect it, it's fair to expect it on that date.

Texasten I definitely agree that you have a right to be uptight. I am for one tired of this tactic with online and storefront sellers. Don’t tell me an expected delivery time that knowingly is never going to happen. Completely disrespectful to the customer. Tell me the F##kin truth, I can handle it. Now I am equipped to make a decision if I want to purchase from you. But of course then you might lose a sale. If I were to run my business like this I would be run out of town.
Got to jump on bike now and unwind...

Ha, that is right. If I had more time to ride, would have less time to stress over this! I appreciate all comments, that is what I asked for. I pretty much agree with all..... Yes, I am impatient and need to learn to NOT expect that internet orders are going as planned. I also agree with those who say when you are given a ship date and then it is delayed, that is just adding to my impatience problem.

I sort of like the idea of looking at delays as another opportunity to "anticipate" the farkle arriving for a little longer, but I must confess, not quite there yet..... I can't get past feeling like I was lied to, but I AM working on that.......... ::010::

Not wrapped too tight at all. They told you that they were there, and they weren't. If the guy you were talking to didn't know, he should've checked.

I ordered some tires from Motorcycle Superstore a few weeks ago, on a Monday. They said in stock, estimated delivery that Thursday. On Thursday, I called and asked why I didn't get a shipping notification, and they said "in stock" means they are "in stock" somewhere, not at their warehouse, but my tires would arrive at their warehouse the next day, ship out, and I'd have them early the following week, probably Monday or Tuesday. One tire arrived the following Tuesday, the other arrived the following Friday. The tires are still sitting in my garage, so it didn't impact me at all, but it's just a poor way for a company to do business.

Being up tight doesn't fix a thing, just brings angst, pulls you down and your friend and family don't want to hear it. What's the worst that can happen? a delay in getting the part? A refund of you $$? Jeeeez it isn't life threating nor will it affect your health or well being..

Here's a little advice I offered to another inmate here, it didn't help him but I do hope it helps you.
Sit down, relax, roll yourself a fatty and enjoy:

Well, Yes and NO....... When I called on the supposed ship date of the 25th and they said a week to 10 days more, they also said they had smoke tinted in stock. So, I had them ship a smoke one. Warning, don't go with smoke, it does not look good to me with the clear factory shield, and it is going to take some adjusting to get used to it darker up there. It does help the wind noise a lot and the product is pretty good. But, GET CLEAR TO GO WITH CLEAR SHIELD!!! Just my thoughts....... Maybe someone on here wants to trade smoke for clear??!!! O:)
