I need some aluminum spacers for my luggage mounts. The mounts normally use the grab bars as a part of the mounting offset. But I can't use the grab bars because they interfere with the Russell Day Long pillion seat.

I have looked for spacers/bushings on the web. I've contacted local machine shops and high school shop classes. So far no luck in finding something or getting them made. Unfortunately I have only hand tools.

So I'm falling back to the community for ideas or someone who has a lathe willing to do the work (for $ of course).

I need 4 spacers:
OD 22mm +/- 0.20mm 7/8"
ID 10mm +0.25mm -0.00mm 13/32"
LENGTHS 34mm, 36mm, 48mm, and 50mm. +/- 0.20mm 1.340", 1.420", 1.890", and 1.970" +/- 0.010

Thanks...

I haven't tried this, but I've read that the metal inserts in the grab bars can be easily pressed out and re-tasked as spacers like you're needing.

Thanks for the idea Don! Excellent stop gap until I can figure out a better looking alternative.
