Hey all. I was just curious. Is anyone going to this event? The AltRider’s Taste of Dakar. I was considering it because it looked like a lot of fun and a bang for the buck. I’ll put some information up so that you guys can take a look. It looks like Jimmy Lewis will be around to give out some very much needed off road training for us big bike riders. It also looks like they’ve got Johnny Campbell of JCR Honda coming as well. http://jcrhonda.com/member/all/33 Should be a blast.

I will be there just as I was last year on my S10.

This is an absolutely must do event IMO!!!!!!!

Let me know what questions you have, if any, and I'll fill you in.

One answer right away.....go with Conti TKC or Metzeler Karoo. Heidenau K60 are not advised or adequate for the terrain you will encounter.

Be there!!!!!!!!

Definitely sounds like a great event. What would I need to bring along? Any must have items that I should have at the ready? Knobbies a must?

Knobbies are an absolute must. The Heidenau will get you through maybe 50% of the terrain and then you're sunk.

Camping gear, open mind, fun attitude.

An event no one should miss.

Jeremy here from AltRider. I just wanted to let you all know that there are only 5 more spots available in the Friday class with Jimmy Lewis before the event. I would sign up now before the spots run out! We didn't expect this to be as popular as it is. Please email us at info@altrider.com if you have any questions.
