Well I searched for the answer to this question and couldn't find it - so I'm posting just in case somebody else is looking for the answer. On my Kawasaki Concours, I had the large trunk / top box from JC Whitney (Garage Pro Brand) mounted (it was $42 shipped when I bought it with 20% off). I have beat the crap out of that thing for years and it's still holding up.

I also really wanted the AltRider rear rack for my 2015 Super Tenere ES - and saw that they have a Givi monokey mounting kit for that rack and I wondered if it would work with the JC Whitney box (which is kind of a rip-off of the givi trunks)? I went ahead and got the Rack and Givi kit on the chance that it would work, or I could modify the pin locations, lock, etc. and make it work on the rear rack. I put it all together tonight and it turns out it's a perfect fit !!! (with the Large Trunk - which I now don't see on JC Whitney's site). I didn't have to make any modifications to the trunk, rear rack, or givi kit for it.

I also have the medium size trunk that I got for about $32 shipped - and had that mounted on my DRZ. The pins are closer together on that mounting plate than the large plate, but the lock mechanism looks like it's a fit.

For the price, I figured I could destroy the trunk and have gotten my money's worth out of it - but they've held up okay. The mounting plates that come with the trunks are junky although they work. If I break it, I can always buy another one.

I'll try to get some pictures at some point - still farkling getting ready for the season!

Really a perfect fit? The large JC trunk I had had different spacing and would have required modification. Glad yours fit.

You are lucky. I had the same knockoff trunk on my Ninja 650 and the Givi Plate wasn't even close to working with that case.

I too have an off brand trunk that I used to run on my 99 Suzuki SV650. I moved the mounting plate over and after a couple of holes drilled and large washers to help spread the stress it works like a more expensive trunk.

Photo taken yesterday at the store in Shady Valley, TN at the Snake!
I tried this trunk on a friends Givi mount and the spacing was off.

Yes - you could have knocked me over with a feather. It fits and it's tight. I was able to slide a couple of the little sticky rubber nubs up under it with some needle nose to make it even tighter. I fully expected to have to modify something Grind it down, drill new holes for the posts, etc. I'm sure JC Whitney sourced those trunks from a couple different places though. I'll get some pictures up at some point soon.

As promised - here's a picture of the trunk mounted on the Altrider rack with givi mount kit. The Jesse lids clear it as well.
