I wasn't happy with the stocker given the fact that I tend to overload top cases. I decided to try an ALTrider rack due to my high opinion of their quality and design excellence. An upcoming 2500 mile camping/touring trip provided the impetus to upgrade now, as opposed to later.
I'm very impressed with this rack. I've got a Givi E36 for a top case. I've used this model Givi case on other bikes and love it.
I've got 10 photos to post up, so I'll just briefly annotate them as I go...
Out of the box impression: Wow! This thing is exudes build quality.

It looks like it was machined in the flat and formed up perfectly. All of the shape cut edges that will see a bungee or strap are beveled on both sides. You can't do that with a punch or laser or plasma cutting operation. Nice touch!

Sub plate bracket install was quick and easy. The mating holes registered perfectly with the bike. The s.s. machine screws were medium strength, thread locked in, even though the installation instructions didn't call for it.

Top plate was installed using the stand off spacers, bolts, nuts, etc. Thread Locker was used. Fit up was excellent.

Givi case mounting hardware installed. I "borrowed" this hardware from my DR 650's Givi E21 cased, Happy Trails racks. Revzilla didn't have the Givi kit in stock.

This rack is built like a brick s**t h***e! Outstanding build quality and fit up. Nice little extras like bungee "nubs", to prevent hook sliding, as well as strategically placed strapping slots, just add icing to the cake. This is one top notch, butt kicking rack.
Kudos to ALTrider. Well done!!
