Tried to take pics of the issue. I cannot get the top plate at any point to sit flat on the top of the sidestand to get the top plate and bottom plate to marry up. If I put the top plate on, there is no point where all 4 bolts drop to screw on the bottom plate. Suggestions? Do I need to grind a little of that support off?

Just notch the top plate to accept the reinforcing web on the side stand.
Thanks Tiger...
I was going to do something like that...
I called them. She never heard of this issue before. Almost found it comical.

FYI: My first S10 (delivr'd Mar '12) did not have that rib on the side stand foot. AltRider web foot fit fine on that one. That bike was stolen. Repl S10 (Jul '12) had the reinf rib. AltRider has never adjusted their design.

A stolen S10?

I figured the best anti-theft for the Tenere was nobody really even knows what it is.
And mostly just old coots even "get" them.

Kinda like nobody will hit on your old lady if she is ........

My sidestand has the rib. My bike was one of the first one over July '11. Unfortunately I have the foot coming today so I will be adding the notch. Altrider should modify their product to correct this over sight.

Does your sidestand have the rib welded on it?

Sure does-- had no issues with the AltRider plate, just loosely put it on/aligned and tightend up..

Mine would not.
I could not fit the top plate over the bottom...
In no way shape or form would the top rotate enough for all 4 bolts to drop.
I think it has to do with how far out that rib is attached.

What the firefighter said. Just some production variations. I did have to grind mine to fit my early '12 model.

BTW, thanks ADVFireFighter for what you do. Not a job for everyone, but I appreciate that you choose to do it. ::008::
