I have installed the headlight guard on my 2018 S10 A couple weeks ago. I want to replace the marker lights with l
LED lights and I cannot get the Alt Rider ball studs out. It sounds like they are spinning the nuts inside the light housing. And idea on getting these out or is there a way to get to the marker lights without taking apart the headlight housing?

(FYI -- I had responded to this earlier, but decided to remove my headlight to see if I was remembering it right, and determined the information was wrong, and deleted. Sorry for any confusion).

Have you tried gently pressing/pulling against the ball stud while you turn? The captive nuts look like THIS, and compressing the rubber between the headlight might cause enough friction to break them loose.

I hope the rubber hasn't torn, separating the nut.

I got it apart. I contacted Alt Rider and asked them what to do. They said to hit the ends with a hammer to see if you can break the Loctite free. Lower right, the hammer worked. Lower left, the captive nut pulled out of the hole that it was setting in.

They also said that if the hammer didn't work to heat it up with a torch to break it fee. The torch freed up the other two. I was scared to death having a torch that close to the plastic but I was careful and it worked. I did mar up the ball studs pretty bad trying to get them out with a pair of pliers.

I did verify the nut didn't break free in the rubber. The rubber captive nut was spinning in the hole.

Thank you so much for your help
