Here we have the rare sight of two Tenere's in one place (other than a Yamaha warehouse) in fact there were three at the Hotel and not a single 1200GS in sight (I expect they all broke down on the way)

Beautifull, im planning to ride the alps at some point, thanks for sharing.

Allow as much time as possible, there really is about 6 weeks worth just to see the "best bits", I have had 3 two week trips here and only scratched the surface, there are about 300 well known paved Passes and many more minor ones and tracks and trails. Some of the areas are quite different as well, you could probably get all around the regions in a couple of weeks if you pretty much move on every day.

Also get a copy of "Motorcycle Journey's Through The Alps and Beyond" which has about 80 trips in it, all at least a half day, and many a challenge to do in a single day.

I've just enjoyed reading your write up and looking at the photos, looks like you had a great trip. I've been to the Alps a few times and thought they were fantastic but I would like to go to the Dolomites at some point

Well worth it, easy to ride the area from one base, probably the closest packed passes anywhere in the Alps, allow 5 days somewhere central if you can, our 3 days was not really enough even with the blessing of great weather.
