Ive spoke to several people that have installed just a can it they claim there is a great improvement in the power band... I suspect it does have something to do with the dip because of the restriction in the stock can... Maybe its due to the restriction in part to the cats and the stock can combined. When you relieve a part of that equation it cleans up part of the 'dip'....
I have been down this road of first a can.....then air screw/CO Adj....then headers..... then PCV.......then auto tune, I can say that each of these "tweaks" makes a nice difference in the over all power of this machine and really cleans up the over all linear power across the RPM range.... Just my $.02

According to the text, "The torque curve also gets a major boost, indicating the system’s exceptional synergetic effects on the engine." Snake oil?

All told, it does look like it's a really nice muffler that I'd love to own, but I have a hard time justifying the outlay.
Maybe if our U.S. Peso ever gets some value back... :mad:

I too took a similar path as Tabasco and second his statement. Each step makes a marked improvement. The slip-on does make a real difference, catless headers futher open it up, but at this point you have to address fueling with PCV. Go all the way and it is a beast compared to stock.

Thanks for the ideas and feedback thus far.

That Dyno chart is very, very odd in stock (blue) form. I have seen my share of dyno charts and never saw such a dip like this in stock form.

If Akra is accurate and honest, their muffler Entirely correcting that aberrant dip at 2500rpms shuld be telling someone much more dyne/ecu savvy than me something we find helpful to all.

Honest Dyno graphics are meant to eliminate snake oil claims.

Here is my dyno chart after fitting the Akra, PC V and K&N filter

The dip is still there but less pronounced

No stumble there ::003::

100 HP and 80 ftlb torque is sweet. Thanks for sharing this blue.

I actually road by new S10 home from the dealership today (initial review pending) and feel I am/was overblowing the stumble issue.

That was before the Arrow headers and the AT were fitted... Still need to have a run done after these mod's to see what it looks like now. But I'll have that done after the ECU flash.

I'm curious to see that graph! ::015::

I'm gonna take a SWAG and say very little gain at the peak HP since he already has PC, AT and full exaust fitted. Cant wait to see the gain on the low end though. Should no mistake about it on graph as well as 'butt dyno.'

Don't forget that this graph was made even before the Arrow headers, (and AT) were fitted. I think the Arrow headers also brought some extra HP.

Should be close to 110 now, I think.

I predict you've pretty much optimized your top-end power. The ease of power wheelies should increase noticably with the reflash. :) There are times that bike's low end gives the sensation that it wants to jump out of its paint with my completely stock bike. 8) It ought a monster after Diapason mod.

It took about a week, but I finally got the info I need.

Hello.

The shipping cost is 52.32€

The total cost is 304.32€ (Remapping Ecu + shipping cost)

Many Thanks

Elisa

Moto shop snc

Right around $400.00 U.S. for reflash and shipping both ways. Needless to say, I'll be making a copy of my registration and pulling the ECU sometime this weekend. 8)

I certainly do not want to help you spend anymore money but would it not be much more clear and beneficial if you had a dyno run before and after the ECU flash to see exactly how much your header/AT v. ECU contributed?

Ya know, I think he's contributed a wealth of info to the forum already. I understand, as he surely does, what you are saying, but after awhile it all adds up to either time, money or both. I s'pose you could get a pipe, PC, and AT to fill in the blank. ::003::

I agree, BlueEyes has added much needed info on the forum.

I plan on doing that this spring. After the map/maps, have had time on the Auto Tune. It will be good to see what my setup is doing. Especially since I'm using the Leo Vince can.

I agree, but there is a very logical reason why I have no graph before the Akra and with each additional step made. I've posted that in my topic in wich I outline each step in the progress, so if you're really interested plz read the entire topic starting here http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=1170.0

::017:: ;)

And talking about beneficial.... Although it is nice to know the (exact) numbers step by step, I'm more interested in the practical outcome/results than the theoretical numbers on paper. I understand that many folks here want answers to your questions and proof and reasoning, etc... but what holds you back to get the answers yourself... I'm not your virtual lab aimed at getting the answers to everyones questions.

I'm just a hardworking guy with a demanding job, that rides bikes in his sparetime for fun and who likes modding and optimizing. I do not have the wish nor need to collect factual paper proof / evidence in every step I take. I experience the results and share the info that I have and experience I gather with you in an extensive way. ::021::

Why did you say it needed to have another run done after these mods in the first place then??? ::014::

In any case, your contributions are appreciated by this equally hard working dude with a demanding job. ::003::
