I've had one for a month or so now and I have observed:
It does what the company claims - doubles your riding time over stock seat alone. Where I squirm after an hour with the stock seat only, I can make it to two hours before I squirm when I use the Airhawk. I still squirm, it just takes longer to get uncomfortable.
Very little inflation is the way to go, so I usually blow it up pretty well and then let air out as I ride until it feels right - which is just enough to get cushion of air under me without having the sensation of sitting on a bag of jelly.
Worth the money I think, so if my ride is going to take me past the 45 minute mark the Airhawk goes on.
