Air Filter Replacement

How do you remove the rubber cap in the top of the airbox cover before removing the screws and lid (as instructed in the service manual)?
I think I’ve reached the age where I shouldn’t go near mechanical stuff!
Any advice gratefully received….

Grab it with a pair of pliers and pull. It’s just a plug.
